i feel like some of the electrical components on that starter motor, and other stuff, such as head gaskets etc... might have been replaced, not restored, but still impressive.
@@_Wai_Wai_ I totally disagree. Every part was restored to a standard that was more than acceptable for where it was used. You're talking as if this was an aircraft.
My man, you are one of those rare, gifted men. Most guys would have took one look at that motor and walked away. But you rehabbed and reused everything. Truly inspiring. Truly.
The sheer engine rebuild is absolutely something else. It's fascinating, that something most of us would have called trash, can be brought back to life, and MANUALLY, with hand work. I mean, just wow.
This man build a freaking complete working engine from a coral reef... That's damn impressive and beautifully done. plus the sound of it was smooth. Amazing work.
Hurry up and destroy Ukraine. Im sick of people pretending like Ukraine is winning the war. Finish them. Slam your boot down into their throats and end this.
The range of skills and the resourcefulness required by this build/renovation/creation-of-value is beyond anything I have seen and certainly challenges every notion I have of how generalised and specialised someone can be at the same time. Let's recap, he showed prowess as an electrician, mechanist, machinist, surface finisher, fibre glass master, welder, architect, and more. I am honestly left speechless and I have been seeing DIY videos on this platform for a long time.
There are only a Handful of men in the world with this wide range of talent. Lookup Allen Millyard to see some incredible Motorcycle builds. ru-vid.com

I work on airplanes for a living and even I was impressed by his skill restoring that engine. He is an inspiration for many. Beautifully done. May that boat bring you joy for many years to come.
You never see a laptop come out to design anything. Mr Ho just sits it in place then his eye, and smart brain does all the laptop work and calculations. Zap here zap there and you have a brand new fabricated part you would never find in a shop without paying a fortune for it. When I think about all the high tech tools and machines we use in the western world to rebuild engines, I watch Mr Ho do it the old skool way, it makes me think, even If you turn back the clock, there weren't too many engineers in the western world who could do what Mr Ho can on his own. Even by today's standard. Mechanics in Australia these days won't even batter an eye lid at a rebuild job if it isn't a plug and play or with the aid of a laptop & software 🤦 Thank you Mr Ho for schooling us on how it's done old skool 🙏you are the man!!!
Like others have said, salvaging the engine was itself incredible, but everything else from the precision of the work to the design of the boat has me speechless.
I have a suspicion that these videos are fake like those "primitive technology idea" videos. Whether it's the funding or the resourcing of parts/engine or the tools used. If that's true then the entire premise of the video is null as we're to believe this guy did all this work in his shack, basically on his own.
I am 77....was a tool and die maker/machinist for 40 years. I have worked on boats/ships/planes/trains/auto industry/medical/and much more. You sir are incredible. This is bar none the greatest video I have EVER seen. GREAT welding too...and no helmet..lol. Thank You! old man in Tennessee, USA.
This dude is a real 'ENGINEER' , litterally. He performed a surgery on this rusty old machine, and brought it back to life. What a brilliant dude. BIG RESPECT TO HIM from me.
I am curious as a "marine engineer" don't you see few problems with this boat. Author is skilled builder but have no experience in ergonomics and boat building, and made few mistakes that made this boat dangerous to use.
Mr. Ho reminds me that there are still people with the abilities of Henry Ford and the Wright Brothers, who are naturally mechanically and can take the roughest parts and remake them into something wonderful. I was in Vietnam in the 60's, and it is so good to see someone like him thriving.
All I can say is I'm embarrassed of sitting on the couch and so many projects waiting outside. You inspired me to go out there and get dirty and greasy let's do this... speechless on your build Sr. AMAZING JOB
He's not Next Level. He is Final Level. He's the Final Boss of the game with 5 HP bars, 3 of which pop-out once the 2nd bar hits zero and the 2nd bar pops-out when the 1st one hits 0.
@@ravenouself4181 Lol... Big facts. He is the one even the final boss scared of. Man is a whole beast!!! Have to give respect where it is due and my man's deserve it all.
The way he took everything apart and didn’t sort them to their groups tells me this man knows everything about what he’s doing, must have a very high IQ
what did i just watch? the amount of skill and know how i just saw from a guy who barely looks 25 is nothing short of astounding, he's some sort of prodigy, he prolly taught himself from youtube videos. and to accomplish that in 90 days is miraculous. i can't wait to see what ur doing in 30 years. "built my own interstellar space ship with materials from the scrap yard in 90 days"
I particularly liked how the mixture of oil, detergent and water drained directly into the floor. The world doesn't need this damn groundwater, luckily there are heroes who mess it up. Congratulations!
This gentleman is a dam genius. He has the skills to take old motor apart then clean them up each part then put them back together...I have never seen anyone does That kind of work .that amazing dude wow
Very impressive, all of it, but especially the engine rebuild. I would never have believed that anything could have been done with an engine in that condition.
The most incredible restore I have ever seen. Anyone would've looked at that engine see the years of water damage, the barnacles, the rust, all of it and said this is a dead soldier. You brought life back to something any of us would thrown in the trash. Well done Sir, truly, superb work.
The rest of the world is pretty good at recycling parts especially automotive or electronic. America is traditionally the throw-away society. People toss a perfectly good PC into a landfill because it doesn't have enough RAM any more, but in other countries they scrape the tiny grams gold flake off old burnt out electronics to recycle lol. Pretty much anything can be fixed, but when it comes to cars or motors, literally everything can be fixed. Just look around youtube at the people who make budget race car builds from pic-a-part and junkyards
how he took that motor and made it whole new again..im just lost for words. What an absolute amazing talent...shit isn't easy at all!!! Major respect to this man! he deserves the world! Dude need to have his own lavish shop and make the big bucks, he is so Intelligent!
When we escaped from Vietnam in 1979, my dad and his 4 persons team put together an engine from 4 junkyard small engines (it was illegal to own anything privately at the time) and put it on an 18 meters wooden boat that helped sailing us 284 people out to East China Sea in search for freedom. Our boat spent 7 days at sea and finally reached Indonesia water. That engine was still functioning like new.
Absolute respect ... I'm speachless! I never ever would have thought that this motor with all it's auxiliaries is comming back to life again without major renewals! Also no manuals, no high quality tool ans no torque wrench - really incredible! Of course the rest of the built is marvelous - especially the clear design! May be I wouldn't call it a yacht but it's definitely almost a speed-boat ... you even passed the motorbike @ 33:15 ... 👍👍👍 ... 🤣
The most amazing and ingenious things I’ve ever seen. A modern Leonardo Divinci. this man is a master mechanic, master machinist, master artisan. STUNNING. Some call NASA and recruit this innovative genius.
I don't think I've ever been so impressed by someone on RU-vid. I take my hat off to you Sir. All I could see there was literally scrap, but your vision and skills made something quite brilliant. A genuine artist.
I don't know about "Yacht" but that is a cool little boat that seems to work quite well. And to have built it himself is a big hats off for taking stuff that would normally be going into a "landfill" and finding a new use for it! The ultimate form of recycling! Give this man a medal! And something we should all learn how to do!
@@pizzaguyvlogs1630 LOL! Just because I can sleep in my car doesn't make it a mobile home. 😉 Seriously though, the guy made a cool little speedboat but a yacht is something completely different. I still commend him for his efforts though.
Some like nature, ballet, or dancing kittens. I truly honestly consider this a work of art. Honest craftsmanship at the highest level. Great great compliments!
I can't even begin to explain how this man can take to most destroyed parts and make them new again, a moter that beat and water logged and make it look and run like new and the entire build I'm just lost for words!!!! Amazing!! The world needs more people like you in it!!!!
indeed. most mechanics dont even begin on that anymore... too much work, and chance of failure of parts. better to just replace with new parts often that is cheaper, but its very nice to see this craftsmanship of engine restoration
Patience, I work on shit like this all the time but my problem is I get mad to easy. Lol. But I get it done. But forreal time and patience and people like us never pay someone else to work on our shit so we know it's done right
Absolute patience and craftmanship there, i’ll never look at an old boat the same way again, the time spent on the engine alone must have been very lengthy, very nice job 👍
What excellent all round skills to create this great boat. The engine tear down and rebuild is fantastic in itself - that combined with the many other advanced trade skills makes this man a great asset to any company in my opinion! I'd hire him in an instant. This is a great video that has earned huge respect from me. Lets help get this man to a million subs plus! He fully deserves it! 👍👍👍👌
I can’t believe that you were able to take that engine out of the sand and not only get it to run but to build that awesome boat. You are the man. Looking forward to your next video!!!
Never been so amazed so much before. Just the engine restoration was mind blowing. You sir are at a different level. Don’t know how much you spent on that but I bet you could sell it for 6 times as much or more.
I am an engineer and mechanic. (Retired) This man is amazing, I would love to hire 10 just like him and we would take over the world. Truth be known there isn’t 10 men together that could do the work this man does! FREAKING AMAZING!!!👍🏻
Dude, while a was watching this video a commercial popped out ,there was some american kid 3 times bigger than this guy,he was painting flowers on a papier mache skulls and call him self "artist" ... i am not saying every man should be a mechanic , but it's it's sad when a dude does kids job.
Wow that was incredible!! Here in North America we usually just throw stuff out when it's broken but you gave that old junk new life. I feel like we could all learn something from you. You have my respect sir!
Thank you 🙏 I have a deep appreciation for your ability and your talent I have built boats up here in Canada, so I have a complete understanding as to all the incredible effort you put forth to create that beautiful work of art and fantastic project Please keep on being creative. Be safe. God bless.
My jaw dropped several times watching this. The intricacy of the gears, springs, seals, etc., and all salvaged and reassembled is something you may never see again to that level.
I wouldn’t have believed that this engine rebuild was possible if I didn’t see it with my own eyes. He has amazing knowledge of engines, let alone his boat building skills
The sheer level of skill to do all of this is almost beyond imagination. I do a lot of stuff...woodworking, carpentry, welding, small engine repair, etc. I can do a lot, and I'm absolutely in awe of your talent. Restoring that ceased, rusted, flooded, barnacle infested engine is so impressive I almost can't believe it's real. Then, you weld up a new drive shaft and rudder. Then you do new panel work. Then you make a fiberglass shell. Then you put a finish on it in your back yard, but it looks like it just rolled out of a professional paint shop. I'm almost at a loss for words. This is just incredible.
Do not believe everything your eyes tell you. If i was making this video, i would show the barnacle infested engine, work on it a little - then use one that was already rebuilt 😉
"I built my own yacht with materials from the scrap yard"...and a pile of foam boards ! This boat looks like something James Bond would be proud to use! Absolutely incredible !!!

I have never seen someone with so many multiple skills. I would not wonder, if there was a motor restauration specialist, different ship specialist, mechanics, electricians and other specialists involved. But doing this all alone? What a talented man he is, what a genius and knowledge this man has. Brilliant!
Amazing build! With talent and skills like you showcase people would admire and at the same time envy you! Keep doin' what you do man, you are really good at it! People need to subscribe to this channel because he's worth watching!
This dude is a Jedi Master. Everything done with precision. I loved when he made his own gasket, I was stunned. And the Welding, nicely done. Working with fiberglass was the icing on the cake. Master mechanic and craftsman. You are awesome Sir. 👌 P.S. James Bond you have found your new Q.
Absolutely amazing! Now imagine if you have a big company support your vision and craftsmanship! All the highest quality materials, precision tools and man power you need! The possibilities would be endless!
Getting that engine working, that must have been a god feeling. You clearly are a man with a plan. Next one with two (smaller) engines, jetski exhausts, two seats and a back entrance? One thing is sure, she moves and with some good speed too. Too bad the water is too muddy, else a glass panel bottom could have been a idea.

Think this just might be the greatest video I've watched on RU-vid. Absolutely love this guy's tenacity and determination to succeed. What a job he has done and how many folk in western society would even take a task like that on??? Bravo. A true lesson in hard work!!!!
