If you're watching this on the day of the upload, have a very Merry Christmas, its crazy how much we have grown in such a short period of time! I hope you enjoy this little $600 build video :)
@@Shush.s1 sorry just seeing this! But honestly I didn’t know I should do it in this video haha, if you check my channel, I made a benchmark video right after this one with games/editing!
This was really helpful! Only video I've seen where you use a special screw that secures both the heatsink and the SSD when they are the same length. Little things like this can really throw a 1st time PC builder.
Haha thank you, glad it helped! and I totally get that too, made sure to watch a few videos of my exact mobo to make sure I was doing everything correctly lol
i just put all the parts u listed in my wishlist i hope i can save enough money til my birthday so i can get myself a present🥺 love ur video i’m so inspired!
Aye thank you!! and good luck saving up, hopefully gpu prices will come down a bit, just keep an eye out using facebook marketplace or OfferUp for some deals, thats how I got my 1660 for $180, otherwise this build would be so much more if i went all new parts haha
@@GarlicGoat Very much a HUGE step up from my laptop! Here are specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x GPU: GeForce RTX 3060ti Motherboard: MSI B550m Pro-VDH WiFi 2x16gb Vengeance Corsair RAM sticks 2 1TB Samsung 970 Evo SSDs Cooler Master CPU Cooler Corsair RM750 Power Supply It's by no means a $600 build (I wish TuT) but I'm really proud of it! It runs amazing and fits all my streaming and editing needs. Only ever gets a little warm when I play Sims lol. The build ended up being a 10-hour stream bc i am SLOW but it was very educational and fun! I won't need to for a while but I'm excited to possibly build another! If you end up using this motherboard, make sure you check what cpu you're using and see if you need to flash the BIOS!
@metrovalleyEATS hey bro I've also got this mobo but do you know if it's normal that the second screw of the ssd m2 doesn't fit? Do I have to use one of the screws that came with the mobo?
@@magicaxel100 Sorry I saw this so late 🥲 I believe I did have to use a mobo screw. If the ssd looks like its springing up i think it’s going to do that until screwed down
Nice relaxing video - did you set the Ram speed in the bios ? I think I saw speed of 2133 but it can go above 3000 ? Try to choose in the Bios the A-XMP profile 1 or 2 ? Cheers
Since it’s been about year and a half. Have you ran to any problems with the motherboard? Thought about getting this one and the ryzen 5 5600x since my current cpu is a part of the old amd fx series (my mobo only supports that series) and is bottlenecking the gpu hard..
Not bad for a $600 build. Although, if you ever upgrade your gpu I’d highly recommend upgrading you power supply, 450w gets you buy with the components you currently have, but it could definitely use an upgrade in the future if you upgrade your gpu, cpu, or any other components that use a lot of power, especially since you have an 80+ white power supply. I’m also hoping you stored the other bracket you removed at start from the motherboard, safely. Since, if you ever happen to buy an AIO liquid cooler to help with overclocking, those brackets will make installing the AIO a lot easier. Hope you didn’t end up putting this computer on the ground though.
Ahh good to know about those brackets, I have them safe in the mobo box! But for sure on the PSU, that’ll be my first upgrade, everyone has been saying it lol, I plan to make some upgrades in the summer when parts (hopefully) are a bit more reasonable but very soon I’ll try for a 650-700w which would leave me with some good room
Hi nice build. Really clean and good video. You should consider upgrading your CPU cooler first because the stock cooler tends to get really loud and other Fan cooler for CPU are really cheap normally. The Rest should be fine for upcoming years depending on you demand. GPU is 2017/18 ish but will do the job nicley. If you someday looking for 20 or 30 series you might need a new power supply.
I’ll definitely look into an air or aio sometime soon, I think the first upgrade will be the PSU, maybe getting a 700w since I do want to upgrade sometime down the line (probably summer) but thank you! Do you have any recommendations on an aio/cooler?
Hey dude, your pc build is amazing and great value for the bucks. I wouldve done just 1 thing different: a bigger psu. If u wouldve had a 550watt psu u woul have way more upgrade possibilities in the future and u wouldnt have to get another psu. It would save u money.
Hey thank you! ANd for sure, the next upgrade I will do is the psu, im still kind of a noob so I went by the recommended wattage for the gpu but seeing these comments are super helpful, ill probably go 750w sometime soon just so that in the summer if I could get a 3060ti, then it'd would be plug and play haha
Hi friend I bought this same Mobo and I'm running with a Ryzen 5 5600G, and SSD NVMe and a HDD. But I can't install Windows, I tried to boot the ISO with a Sandisk USB drive but everytime I get an error. It shows "An NTFS is already loaded" and "Load failure [3]: unsupported" Can you please help me?
Hey! So far so good, no problems at all! It was real easy to build in and the bios was super ui friendly too when doing the xmp profile for the ram. I’d recommend it and it looks great as well
Oh for sure! I’m planning on doing some upgrades maybe in the summer or something, but that sounds like an amazing build, I tried to buy a lot of stuff used but the market right now is terrible, people were asking 300 for a 1660 ti but luckily I got a base 1660 for $180 shipped, maybe a 3000 series later on haha
@@gwm-btdbattlesagar.ioandmo9988 What kind of editing you do ? If you do heavy work animations that require alot of effort and power then you should had got 64 gigs as that will supply you good. If you're doing classical editing via Vegas Pro or After Effects and gaming together, then 32 gigs was pretty much waste of money to the unused ram as you can pass easily with 16 gigs. Afterall, 1660 Ti is solid GPU .
hi, nice video, I just have a quick question : do you remember making any bios update ? Cause ive got the exact same MB and CPU but the MC does not read the CPU... the monitor wont turn on but evrything works perfectly fine thanks!
If it's the Ryzen 5000 series, you need to update the motherboard bios first. You can search " MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi USB BIOS Button Flash Guide" and you will get some bald guy telling you what to do. Don't install anything on your motherboard before flashing your bios, just plug your 24 pin and 8 pin on your motherboard and fire up your PSU, then put your usb stick in and press the flash button on the motherboard (the bald guy will tell you all about it). The reason for this: the motherboard was released before the 5000 series CPUs, so they are not supported. The new version will support them. Just don't install ram/cpu/hard drives on the motherboard before you do this :)
Aye thank you! And for the stock ryzen cooler, it had pre-applied thermal paste so I didn’t need to ask any! And no bios flash either, for b550 boards, they’ll work with the 3000 or 5000 series right out of the box, I b450 boards also work with the 3000 series without a bios flash, if you went b450 and 5000 series (I think) you maybe need to do it
Hey! I think you could do a very similar build to this one, by going: Ryzen 5 3600 B450 Mobo (save $20) or B550 (for upgradability) And for gpu your best option would be trying to find something used, like a 1660 super or TI, if you have to buy now, the 1650ti or super works real well too 16gb ram (3200 or 3600 speed) SSD of your choice Case of your choice And PSU maybe 500w (I heard good things about evga) Hope this kinda helped! Lmk if you wanted Intel too
Good video. I did the same build but I didn’t use graphics card, instead I went with the Integrated graphics and an SSD. Did you run into any types of problem with you pc restarting non-stopping. I can’t figure it out.
That’s a good move for the gpu prices these days lol and I didn’t have any issues with that really, usually people say it’s the RAM that could cause it. Has it fixed it self?
Hello. I'm building a new PC with the same motherboard without (graphics cards). Which display port did you use for the connection, from the PC to Monitor??
I am saving money right now to build my own PC. Would it be ok if I got all the same parts used in this video but got an Aresgame power supply 500 watt 80+ bronze certified PSU instead of your power supply and a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb Ram instead of your Ram? (Getting a Graphics Card later)
For sure on the ram, any brand will really do for that, and Ill admit, my PSU is not the best, 500w and 80+ bronze will be great for this build, id suggest going with a more well known brand though (corsair / evga etc..) if you wanted to save some money, look up "EVGA bstock" on google, and they have a lot of PSUs at a discount and they update their stock every Wednesday
Can someone tell me if you have to keep the small metal plate at the back? (Its attached to thise two black pieces around the cpu) I bought a different cpu fan should i keep the plate and screw the cpu fan to it
I had a 400 budget. I used the same motherboard. No gpu 16gb ram 500w psu and for cpu i used the amd athlon. Im gonna upgrade it at some point when prices go down.
Aye thanks for the idea, i just might need to do that haha, ill try another exaust fan on the top and see how that works, if not, ill do some cutting lol
I think there is a new variation of the same board called the B550M PRO VC Wifi that is ryzen 5000 ready so no bios flashback needed(with 1 ryzen 5000 cpu exception). However the board he has needs to be BIOS flashed for the ryzen 5000 series from what i understand. I recommend the newer one if u ever thought of buying it Sorry for the late reply
Yup! In my case, it just worked without the drivers, was able to connect during the windows 10 setup, if you are having troubles, you can always download the drivers to a flash drive and install them that way
Thank you haha, took a few months to get the best deals for the parts, def helped that I was looking before black friday and Christmas, microcenter / offerup came in clutch haha
It was a mix of new and used parts, I bought a few on Black Friday at a discount and the gpu and ram were used so saved money there, and I got the cpu and mobo at microcenter and if you buy the combo you get $20 off so it took a bit but got it all for just over $600 lol
@@ryanhenderson8710 Hey you shouldnt buy overpriced graphics card. Always check for the original price. We in germany got some websites. Get some for you regions and compare price development to ensure best offer for the moment.
why are you shaking? are you ok? but its a nice computer and you made a great job building it, hope i can get one too btw do you play genshin impact? if you do, make some guides so i will watch it because i cant find some good guides
Haha I’m okay! I was nervous with the cpu and I was working around the tripod so my arms were at a weird angle, I stopped later in the video 😂 but thank you! Do you have a build planned soon?
Those are the small Philips head screws that are rounded on the top (not flat) that come with your case, honestly either or works though haha, just make sure you have your stand-offs in and it’s all good

Dang now that’s a sweet build, all that content creation stuff and gaming is gonna be a breeze for that machine haha, are you making a build video for it?
psu seems low, if you plan to upgrade your gpu, upgrade your psu, and make sure to enable xmp in the bios(which u probs fixed). other than that its a decent build
For sure and thanks for letting me know about the tier list, i was planning on doing some upgrades this summer, the PSU being the first lol, that way whenever I can get my hands on a new graphics card, all will be well. Was the tier list the LTT one?
The case I used (cooler master q300) had a box which included all the screws and standoffs needed to put the mobo in, so I just used the ones included with the case
@@Joshua_Boaz hey bro I have another question.. I was building my first PC ever last night and after getting everything plugged in, only my GPU light was on and I didn’t get any power. Now that I think about it, I forgot to plug in the power switch to my mobo along with the other front panel cables. Are those important to get my PC to power on?
@@bigloko6380 Oh thats weird, but id try plugging those in just to make sure something with the mobo isnt complaining that it is not plugged in, also id recommend reseating your 4pin and 24pin cables for your mobo and just doing the same for the ram / other cables, maybe it's just one loose one that is causing the issue
@@Joshua_Boaz oh dope, if possible I’d like to see warzone, fortnite, and red dead or just any games that are relatively new or updated game that you have, also if you could show what graphic settings your using when running the game. Thanks.
@@ABCDetailing223 aye sounds great! Already have warzone and CS downloaded on my machine and on med settings for warzone we’re hitting around 100fps at 1080p, I’d like to try Minecraft with shaders as well, I’ll make a video soon though!

@@Joshua_Boaz im deciding which mobo to get still. u think its worth just buying the cheap msi b550 without wifi for $70 and then buy the extra wifi card? or built in wifi on msi board for $90??
Not out of the box, you need to flash the BIOS. However, there's a new variation of the same board he's using called the B550M pro VC wifi which is ryzen 5000 ready including the 5600G
Damn, I had the same pc as you kinda (The same mobo but non-WiFi version, and Ryzen 5600x) but unfortunately didn't work well at the first time I boot to Windows 10 Installation because it always restarts itself. Is anyone had the same issue like me?
@@Joshua_Boaz I think it might be a problem with the mobo itself, cuz I've tried a couple things like swapping with my cpu friend (which is works like a charm on my friend pc) but unfortunately didn't work on me (still restarts itself). So maybe I need to RMA my mobo.
Yeah new prices are not doing so well at the moment, at this time your best bet is to either shop at microcenter / amazon/ newegg and get retail price for some components that you can, and then go used, it takes time but theres no reason a 1660 should be $500+ haha
so it looks like the fans in the video are no longer sold but here is a really similar one from the same brand here, these are a bit nicer since the RGB is addressable: amazon - www.amazon.com/upHere-Wireless-Adjustable-Radiators-SR12-06-3-US/dp/B08728Q86D/ref=sr_1_7?crid=WXCX6ONE7SSC&dchild=1&keywords=uphere+rgb+fans&qid=1613118425&s=electronics&sprefix=uphere+%2Celectronics%2C179&sr=1-7
Scalpers :/ honestly though, your best bet is to buy used gpus these days, it takes time but I’ve seen a lot of 1660s on OfferUp and Marketplace in the $200-$300 range, even used they’re hard to get at a reasonable price lol
Yeah looking at some of these parts even a few weeks after filming the prices went up as usual, luckily i was able to get a lot of these things used / at micro center so that saved me a lot of money
I went just a bit over $600 but I’ve been buying parts since Black Friday where I got some deals, and using a mix of new and used parts helped get it to that price, also I was able to get the gpu for $170 which really saved some money lmao
