@@SarahNocchito me it looks like you'll have more room. when I was racing I had a good seat and other gear but the frame was made out of lumber I had to cut. Wasn't very light and was clumsy getting in and out of.
The setup is cool and the color is nice. Everything looks sturdy. Please do a review once you get everything intact. I’m looking for something, maybe a rally set up in the future. Thanks!
Blue being my favorite color, this looks sweet!! Looking forward to the rest of this series, are you planning on adding full motion, or will I just have to wait?? 😊 Did you happen to watch those video links I sent you in your previous iRacing video?? Passe un bonne fin de semaine. Pierre. 👍
Thanks! This color definitely has my heart! I haven't planned for full motion so far, but hopefully in the future ;) I am so sorry but I still did not find your comments with the other iRacing videos. Bon weekend, Pierre!
Recently assembled the sim lab p1x pro: the instructions are terrible and the parts are not labeled so I had to trial and error hoping I had the correct length screws for each step. Track racer looks like provide a much better user experience for assembly.
Yes I remember the pain of building my sim lab too! Felt like it took a lot longer than it should have, and it was very messy. This install was very straight forward
Looks easy to set up. Think I might go this direction. I want to use a third party seat and sliders. A Cordbleu FX1 Wide. Any idea if I need to buy anything special to mount this or will I need special brackets. I’ll sent track racer a message too.
It was very easy and clean! The finish on the rig is also amazing. Definitely would recommend. Usually the brackets are pretty standard and are made to be mounted on any rig but I am not too familiar with the ones that come with the sliders. Can you buy the seat only and use TrakRacer slider and brackets? Would definitely contact them to make sure about what the best option is.
Out of curiosity, why have you chosen to go with tripple monitors opposed to VR headset. As im older i do find i get a bit of motion sickness, but with these higher resolution models wondering if this is not much of an issue, plus imersion i would think would be far better, however for what ever reason most youtube sim racerers still use tripple screens, simply not sure why?
I have only tried VR a few years back to be honest, and it did make me feel a bit sick. I am sure the newer ones are much better in terms of resolution and immersion factor, however, I can't really imagine myself wearing the headset for a long period of time. I find it to become quite uncomfortable fairly quickly. I am not sure if it is the main reason for most people. I also find the monitors to do the immersion job quite well, so not really feeling the need for VR.
In my opinion VR is just a hassle. I have never felt sick in VR in sim racing (yet i can’t take one step forward in a shooting game). So it has never for me been about motion sickness. For me I can just sit down, start up iracing and drive with triples. VR is a process. Start PC and PCVR app, start VR headset, then go to PCVR, then select desktop, take off headset and start iracing and what I want to do. Put the headset back on (which always flickers while loading), center the screen then start. Honestly it’s annoying, and if it’s annoying I don’t want to do it. I have kids and a family where time is precious.
To answer your question about RU-vidrs, because it’s impossible to engage while streaming and it’s weird for a video starring at someone wearing a VR helmet instead of seeing theirs faces.
Great video! Sarah, in your opinion which type of seat is more comfortable regardless if you are racing a formula, GT, endurance sim race? you mentioned your other rig being formula type oriented and this one a GT. Regards.
Thank you! It depends on your driving style. I know some people prefer a straight back, but in my view, the hybrid style seat I have on my TRX is more comfortable, in any situation. I usually am in a half laid back position, allowing less tension on my back and legs. It’s great for longer sessions. But for drifting or manual transmission I think the GT one will be more appropriate
Dang, metallic blue is my favorite color, well and black and silver too. You got me, I'm gonna wait, but next year I'm getting a new rig lol. That price isn't bad. How come you aren't getting triples? Or are you gonna use VR as well. My 1st rig was a mess with screws and stuff too lol.
That color is everything! So happy I went with blue over black. Yes price is very decent for the quality that you get! Since I have triples on the other setup, I am going to try the ultra wide on this (going with the 57", so I am actually excited about it!) I am glad to hear I wasn't the only one to struggle on the first rig haha
Sorry to hear! Which rig did you order? I know some of them were being restocked and people have been waiting on them. I haven't gotten the monitor stand yet either
@@SarahNocchi I just got the monitor stand finally after over six months at least it was sent out . Make sure you let them know you haven’t gotten it either because on there end it shows as everything was delivered even tho some stuff might be missing
I'm curious as to why you felt the need for a dedicated GT style rig, if your other Trak Racer can do both GT and Formula so easily? Is it just the shifter? Can you not get a shifter on your other rig?
Yes the TRX is the perfect rig to do both! But we have 2 dedicated players in the house and it's been a while that we were thinking of having two so we don't have to take turns anymore and can play at the same time ;) Also when we have friends come over we will now be able to play together! Since the TRX is set up more in a open-wheel style (love the hybrid position on that one with the laid back seat and pedals more flat), it made sense to make this one more GT-focused. I will also be using the new one to test out more products.
Can’t notice any so far. I’ll let you know once everything is installed. But my TRX has the slider too and there isn’t any flex. For me it’s a must because I want other people to be able to play without having to undo screws every time. But if no one else than you uses the rig then it might not be needed!
Wait a sec…..it’s 40/160 profile but the wheel stand only uses corner brackets with 4 holes, thats’s weird. The TR-120 (40/120 profile) the corner brackets have 6 holes. It looks nice, but makes the “upgrade” to the TR-160 from the TR-120 pointless. I heard the GT seat is trash!
I need to find a wife just like you! a formula for a good and healthy life, instead of a wife that shout on you to close the pc :D Great contact, good luck there :)
This chair's simulator is less fair than in real life because we get motion blur issue on any thin monitor/TV for lack of flicker to leave to be difficult more for the driver/player.
@@user-mq9dy2lj5u I remember I pressed doubtly the break pedal on LCD monitor non-strobe because I can't read the screen of 200- or 100-meter fastly moving due to the motion blur. Therefore, I backed to CRT monitor-computer. 😉
You should get into sim racing you'll do better than her seeing you can go from simp to incel in under 1 second. Until then this is a place for men of culture.
Yes!! Blue is definitely the way to go! Unfortunately no I don’t have an install video but feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Happy to help 😊
