New things are always evolving at our off grid property in northern BC Canada.
Things aren't always easy when you don't have conventional power but we make it work. And we don't but any corners along the way.

Great video! Neat to see all the wild animals roaming thru your place and the baby moose is growing fast!And having all those tools is so good beyond words.I learned something new too about using a calendar to make a line around a pipe!lol

That baby is so so cute. We really are lucky to live among the animals. We are happy to share their forest with them 😊 Chris is so crafty like that! The calendar was perfect. The tiny equipment has really really made a huge difference in our abilities around the property. We are so grateful!

Yes! A deck is such a mandatory addition to a home we think :) We aren’t talented carpenters like you though haha so it’ll be interesting to see how the build goes lol

Chris love that little multi use toy ! It's not a jackhammer lol, Those piles might move with the frost in the spring, Hopefully not :) Your greenhouse is looking great :) your grass is slowly getting green !

It’s not a jack hammer? 🤔 We are hoping the pile’s stay put. The ground is favourable here. But you never know! The spring has been wet (in a good way!) so things are really greening up! 💚

A deck is a perfect spot to stack your firewood are you going to put a roof on your deck or just open deck? You guys work so hard you make me tired beautiful job though very well done.

Well the idea is a partially covered deck, because we do enjoy the sun too. But you never know, it’s never really finalized until it’s finished haha. It’s always nice to have a couple of days firewood right on the deck for sure! Thanks for watching we appreciate the comment!

Your deck is going to be awesome. We're planning on building next spring but I'm getting anxious to start. How big is your cistern and how deep did you bury it and the water line so it wont freeze?

The cistern is 6x10 and the waterlines come out of the bottom and out of the surface of the ground and into the trailer. They’re heat traced a few into the ground. A new deck is a huge addition to our living space for sure! We are clearly a little anxious to get going on it too, So excited about it!

😂😂 -the calendar, Chris wouldn’t chop up something like that lol -that jacket was purchased 25 yrs ago before we could afford the whole jacket hahaha. Just kidding, Chris just has a thing for terrible jackets maybe? Lol

In Canada it’s called “May Long” which is Victoria Day, it was Queen Victorias birthday 🎂 It’s the Monday preceding May 24 every year. It’s the unofficial start of “summer” for us haha
