The biggest problem I see is that you can't really cast Command at will with this build. It's a spell you can cast as an Order Cleric and the only extra thing you can do there with level 2 is use your Channel Divinity on top of it. Unless I'm mistaken, spell slots and channel divinity are resources that can get used up and thus isn't really at will.
yeah not the best use of the term at will, I should have said a bunch. Then again the Voice isn't unlimited as well. But clerics do get a lot of spell slots, and order clerics being able to order people around, including allies, is quite spot on for Paul.
@@MonkeyDM Technically, if you don't use D&D lingo, "at will" means when you choose. So long as there is an included limitation in the statement, it still works.
Could also instead of waiting for foresight, take the 2 levels in divination wizard for portent for a lower level version, though it doesn't synergize as much with wisdom caster levels
Divination Wizzard(2) allows for the "Seeing the Future" and open up the Foresight. Cleric I go along with as well, but the Rogue can not be missed, even if just taken for 3 or 4 levels where you pick "Investigator" for the "foresight of the enemys moves" That is his "Melee Training" taken as Atreides Heir. The "Bene Gesserit"-Stuff he just gets the basics - so yeh, Cleric needs to be taken as well. His "Training" in Mellee finishes up as he is with the Fremen and on Dune before that. Also, mix in the Ranger here as you really need the Spells only the Ranger can have. It is only later in the Books that Paul becomes the Kwisatz Haderach and thus more "Mystical" - so get the Cleric and the Wizzard. For the third Book, we need the Shapeshifting where he can become a Beast partly or fully - do probally Druid because this also boosts his Spellslots as well which he has very little of. We pick the Wizzard and Druid late as Druid picks Spells at Level Up to choose from - and with bigger Slots already, we can go to the really Juicy ones instantly while the good "Support Spells" can be learned by the Wizzard via Scrolls and the Cleric "Auto-Updates". Just find the right Time to throw in the Fighter as well (probally at the beginning as well) to get to Second Wind and Action Surge - both used by him in the Story. So Yeah, Paul is an "Abserd".
I would say that the first suggestion of order domain cleric and Faye Wanderer Ranger is the more interesting option, while swords Bard is the simple option.
Paul Atreides can be taken as an isekai protagonist with accompanying overpowered abilities. He's held back initially, however, by his lack of understanding his own capabilities as well as his insecurities and reservations.
