Nice to see everything turn green again... Projects keep you two engaged, a good thing... I like the tiles, easy to maintain and as you say, paw print problems go away... Happy 4th, perhaps our last as a democracy...Nice to be an expat... Here in Dubai, BBQ, and tomorrow, Euro Cup playoffs... Yes! Life is good overseas right now... TC... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
Hello Greg n Wilma ! nice tile work! good providing a good job for working men . those red bushes on the side of the driveway are really growing in and looking great too.
Can't wait to get the tile work completed to see how it comes out. Yes, the bushes are out growing the mini palms. Need to get some fertilizer on those mini palms.
Hi Greg and Thelma, Good to see you're back healthy and active. Thanks for showing the tiles. I have a big balcony in my house downstairs and upstairs and you gave me some idea about choice of tiles. I was in Dumaguete for one week late May. Hopefully we get to visit you next time.
Can I make a suggestion for your dirty kitchen wall and door? Maybe consider a 4 panel sliding glass door, that way, you can have a bigger opening to move objects in and out with ample space
My house carport is tiled. So far it seems to be holding up. It's also 2 different types and colors of tile. The majority is grayish with rough texture. It's the white contrasting tile that's smooth. I need to constantly remind myself to be careful around it when it rains! 😲😂🤣 Looking good, Greg! 👍
With weather and all, delays happen. At 69 I STILL have impatience😝🙄. The other side of improvements, is finishing. But then what will you guys do? Working on projects keeps us young. Retirement is spending your time as you see fit, no demands no schedule 🌟but keep moving! Do you ever take Prince for a walk? It helps our fur babies as they identify sounds they bark at. I ask also as a health benefit to keep moving. Property is lookin good, rain helps those veggies taste good too! Speedy recovery for you both🙏🏻 peppermints and peppermint tea helps asthma greatly if Wilma is not drinking already. You can grow it and it proliferates greatly so keep it cut back. The oil from it can be rubbed on your chest like Vicks to help breath. Sucking on a peppermint candy helps too. I had chronic bronchitis AND asthma and I smoke😱yeah stupidity can hit us on occasion lol. I’ve cured much with herbs. Good to see you both better. 🙏🏻😎❤️
Hi Guys, Nice to see you again. I guess building a house will always keep you busy, it's never over until you get what you want. Happy to see you Greg, Wilma . Always following you from Montreal, QC . I learn a lot listenning to you . I will be flying to Philippines in 2 weeks to look at my lot and future build in Bataan. TC. Mike.
Yes, good to hear you two are doing well. Things are looking good as always. Greg, I have to put my 2 cents in, probably worth way less.....but, if I had a vote, I do believe I would cut the tile on the angle you have the paint on there between the pool corner and the step. With the nosing on it, I think it would flow better on the angle. Just a thought........ Have a blessed day.
Hello Greg, we love the tiles huge improvement, you can tile where your truck stands, i have done the same just let it dry for a weak for the area where the truck stands it should be fine then.
Don't forget to add 5% for waste on those tile .. especially on the stairs at least 5% maybe up to 10% Nice choice of tile so good to have that texture for grip particularly outdoors!
Am glad you both are feeling better, summer colds are the worst. Tiling looks great, y'all need to jump in that pool too, it looks so inviting...lol. Am curious about your grass. Does it grow tall and how do you cut or maintain it? Heard you say the gardener is coming for the weeds. Does he maintain the grass too? Maybe you use a lawnmower or weedeater? Thanks for the update on your home. Look forward to your next video, Wilma and Greg...Jim
Glad you both are back to full health... Odd to say, but: I kind'a missed your regular updates. Living vicariously here in Canada, thinking of my retirement future and what it could be. 🙂
Nice to see you back on and sounding better than the last video. As you well know the work is never done, when you own your own property. The tile looks beautiful and will help with keeping things clean. So very glad to see Wilma healthy, and hearing her laugh again. Just glad to see the weather is much better, and you are feeling much better😊
@@buildingthephilippines I have a sliding gate on our property in Panglao and plan on making it automatic as well. Interested in seeing what motor you use and where you purchase it. Thanks
Yes keep the same tile.. or at least keep it to 1 or 2 different tiles.. nothing worse then nice home with 20 different tiles ... and take from me a home owner in these parts keep a bunch of extra tiles so in 7 years time when few need replacement THEY will match 7 years later they will be different shade and stick out like crap IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND THE SAME TILE
Good morning! I was thinking about you closing off your dirty kitchen. Did you consider a roll-up door like a garage door? That way, the dirty kitchen could be wide open when you are out there.
Are you guys planning to take any trips? Japan, Korea, HK, etc…or maybe island hopping in the Philippines? Of course, it’s sort of like you’re on vacation already, living in a nice tropical area with an ocean view 😁.
@@buildingthephilippines When we finally retire my girlfriend wants a maid, but I say NO WAY. While you can luck out and find a really good one, you can also get one that steals from you and more important to me, one that might accuse me of some sort of sexual harassment or something like that. As foreigners we can be easy targets for stuff like that. It’s sad as we can provide work for the locals, but the risk isn’t worth it to me. I’ll buy a washing machine and do my own laundry.
Hi Greg, the tile will look very nice. Does the tile come pre-sealed? Having to power wash all that painted concrete almost daily is way too much work. Hopefully the tile is much easier to keep clean.
You mentioned Wilma has asthma, is that a problem for people in the Philippines, i ask because i had it when i was younger. Also the color tiles you guys picked out look so nice.
@markF1279 I don't think it's more evident here as other countries. Not sure. There's lots of dust here a d fumes from vehicles, especially in and around national highways and cities. Not a great place to have asthma.
