Human islet amyloid polpeptide (hIAPP) functions as part of the endocrine system and has key metabolic functions. It can self-aggregate to form amyloid fibrils and these fibrils have clinical significance in diseases such as early onset type-2 diabetes.
In this video we show the research done at the Astbury Centre by the Ranson Lab into hIAPP, it's form, function, and clinical relevance.
