Awesome video man. If I caught it live I’d have said Princeton, or super reverb. I don’t have my HR anymore (I’m using a QC), but when I did, I noticed a similar dark/bright difference in IR/cabs. I liked the cabs for live, and IR for recording. It seemed to my ears that my guitar bus comp would bring the brightness up to a perfect level automatically in my DAW. The cabs would end up being a bit too thin in my mixes. (Typically I’d be using a deluxe reverb sim with a tele, or single coil gretsch.)
Hey Doc.......enjoying your HR content as always.......in the future could you expand the HR touch screen to take up most of the split screen? Really don't need to see the foot switches or knobs. Thanks.
Just got the core, thanks for the videos , very helpful , first time user and still trying to figure it out, wonder if you can give a lesson on getting the Boston’s tone, Tom Scholt , willing to pay of course. Thanks
That will be in my Tonal Analysis course on my website coming in January. I will recreate the tones from any band or song at your request. Get all that and more in my Headrush Bundle on the website.
Jim from Southeastern Pennsylvania. I own the MX5 and like the sounds. Screen a little small for my aging eyes, I have to set it up on a stand or desk. I am 65. Thanks for the videos and detailed info.
Hello! Was hoping to understand scenes and setting up the switches & (external pedals/footswitch) on the HR Core better. Will you be making a video on this or is there a video already with HR's older models that works similarily to the Core? Thanks for the vids!
Are scenes the equivalent of snapshots in the helix? If so, Can you as well edit individual parameters of effects/amps in each scene? (not just turn on and off more than one effect)
Scenes are similar to snapshots but the Headrush scenes work closer to a Fractal unit. Headrush uses block presets to change settings between scenes but depending on the block you will hear a gap in sound when switching. Quad Cortex scenes work more like Snapshots as you can actually change the settings per snapshot. I will be doing a workflow overview video of many units here soon.
