At least check the mains are round, but the right way is to line honed the mains with studs torque to spec. What you want of someone who call himself a engine builder and I never see a micrometer, dial bore gauge in his videos.
I’m trying to build something similar but need a hood machine shop to line bore my camshaft bores “long story” is there a way to get in touch with guys for information
1JZ-GE nonVVTi, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GE non-VVTI and 2JZ-GTE all have the exact same spec pistons, rods and cranks. The only differences are compression ratio, stroke and rod length. The metallurgy is identical. Piston oil squirters are nice to have but not having them makes next to no difference to power results or durability. TECHNICALLY, the 1JZ-GE would have the strongest stock setup because the piston crowns are thicker and the rods are shorter. But not by an appreciable amount.
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST haha thats good I was about to say don't tell me any horror stories with them. They were the only company that made a damper for my audi and I have been beyond happy with mine on the audi the last 5 years so I had to buy one for my 2j. Yet to install it im just getting lazy the older I get lol so when I heard the ati needs to be rebuilt from time to time I really dont want to have to 🤣
@@MattShulman good tuners would have a better platform if you at the very least went with new rings. Not hating, just stating facts. I hate to see ppl waste money. Do the right thing Matt.
