In today's heavy equipment vlog we are starting out a job doing some building site preparation for a new pole barn going in. I'm going to be working stripping all of the organics off of the building pad and then prepping the site with sand. I also start to cut in a swale behind the new building site.
13:13 I also talk about organics - what they are and why we take them out of the hole.
This is the first video in a three part series. Subscribe to see the rest of the job!

The digging part is the second best thing man, well for me anyway it's like asmr kind of relaxing me ha, dunno why but, I'm odd like that. Catching up on you're videos now that we're back in lockdown again 😪😥

I'm the same way. Well before I started operating I loved to watch videos of guys operating. There's something about it that's ultra relaxing. Are you guys not able to work?

@@DieselandIron I think it's just seeing the progress being done is satisfying, I dunno if that makes sense lol, like when I'm cutting or breaking ground I'll look for reference spots like say a tree and just seeing all that stone, gravel, soil etc gone or piled up is just so satisfying. 😁 I'm in Ireland man, I've lost one job so far because of covid (The company I worked for 10 years sold up their qurray/gravel pit to a big cement company) I landed a job before we got laid off and we got shut down Friday evening. We just came out of a 6 week level 5 lockdown in the beginning of December.

Any suggestions on speed?? My ADHD has me rushing and going all over the place. Sometimes I feel like slow and steady is better than fast and controlled chaos 😂😂

There's a saying in the business: Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. You can move the machine all over in a super jerky way and you'll accomplish a lot less than when you slow down and spend time being deliberate with your movements.

Machines are like us when it’s cold.. need to get all stretched and warmed up to be able to move properly! Lol double casting material is one of the things I most dislike doing, makes me anxious for some reason 😆 Cool video, nice tips, and man I love this minishh excavator!

I know, it drives me nuts moving stuff twice! That cx80 is a really capable machine. I have 2 complaints with it, it cranes really poorly if you try and track at the same time and it's super sluggish when it's the tiniest bit cold. For straight digging it is one of my favorite mid sized excavators.

Hell yeah looking good, those look like some big truck loads of sand. How many ton was that first truck and trailer ? Great video 👍

I want to say a lead holds 16 ton and a pup is around 10 or 13? I can't remember honestly. Edit: I just asked Rick and I was way off. Between the lead and the pup combined they carry 55 ton.
