Dayum you are bossy Neil! Personally, I like the long format videos better. I know they are more time consuming and a pain in the ass to edit, but I find them more enjoyable. The rationale being, I like to collect 4 or 5 videos from my favorite creators and sit down and watch them through as kinda like a treat. Making an evening of it as it were. However, I'd still watch 5 minute videos of you rolling the trash cans out to the curb. Your world brother, I just live in it. You do what makes you happy. I would still like to get Greg on the phone and discuss your "authoritarian" issues.

Neil… I wish that I had your problems of too much good soil and rain in the summertime. If you saw Brandon’s (Elite Earthworks) latest Frost Footing Dig video… you can see exactly what my soil looks like. It is rare to have to strip topsoil to build roads or pads. You are working in a valley or creek bottom if you need to strip more than 3”! And rain? We are located just west of where the moist air from the gulf makes its turn east. That puts us in the vortex where it meets the moist air that you get, from the Pacific. The resulting high pressure dome expels air like a Rain-X windshield. That’s where we sit every summer… until it cools enough up north to pull the moisture through here… that is also why we have so many tornados in the spring and fall while the dome is establishing its boundaries. But, enough about our polar opposites. Let’s talk about our shared experiences… Moving the doghouse… I built one once out of full dimension lumber, wood lap siding, fully insulated with 3/4” plywood interior walls. I finished the roof with insulation sandwiched between 3/4” inner/outer plywood with composite shingles on the top. It also had an electrical receptacle inside where a lightbulb could be installed to keep it warm. A Thermo-cube was on the outside turn it on, only when it was cold. The crowning touch was to flatten out a Busch beer can and nail it over the doorway… that was the bloodhound tenants name. I had built it in my patio with 4X4 runners underneath. The neighbors all marveled at my engineering and building prowess. I was thoroughly satisfied with this weeklong project. On Saturday morning, my buddy came by to get it. We grabbed a beer and that’s when reality hit. You see, it rained on Friday night. There was about 60 feet of soggy lawn between the patio and the alleyway where he had parked. As we were discussing logistics, he reached down and tried to lift the front. It was all he could do to get it off the concrete. So, we scrapped our plans to carry it and grabbed another beer to fuel our brainstorm. A neighbor who liked beer too, came over to help us plot our next move. He came up with an excellent plan. How about putting screw eyes in the front of the runners… attaching a rope and pulling it to the alley with his 10 horsepower Craftsman riding lawnmower? We jumped right on it. Once rigged, he put it in gear and proceeded to bury the donut sized rear tires to the axles. Another neighbor had been watching and brought over his 6-Pack to help with the project. Between the four of us, we managed to get the tractor unstuck and out of the yard. We then grabbed the ropes and started tugging the doghouse. With two of us pulling on each runner we managed to get it to the alley. Being three beers deep in the project… we hadn’t taken into account that the next move would entail a change in elevation into the pickup bed… but, that’s where we were. Fortunately, we had more beer snd a set of ramps that had been built to load the 10 HP Craftsman riding lawnmower. With that, we were able to eventually get the doghouse loaded into the pickup. As soon as it was loaded, the neighbors disappeared along with their rope and leftover can of beer. My buddy wobbled to his truck. As he started to climb inside his muddy sole slipped off the threshold and he scraped his shin from ankle to knee. After a few minutes of adult rated shuckey-darns and gee-whizzes it occurred to him that perhaps we should pull the pickup to the edge of the alley and go watch football instead. I thought that was a capital idea. I don’t remember who was playing that afternoon… and I certainly don’t remember who won. What I do remember is my wife and daughters coming home just before dusk to find muddy shoes at the door and two guys sleeping peacefully in their recliners with infomercials playing in the TV. She offered to drive my buddy home while my daughters and I picked up beer cans and tidied up the back yard. Come Sunday morning his wife brought him by to get his pickup. I grabbed a couple of aspirin, loaded the neighbors ramps and climbed in. The unloading was flawlessly executed with the help of a come along and our State Blue Laws that prohibited the sale of beer on Sunday! Neil, I didn’t turn into a professional doghouse builder or mover. Which may very well explain why I also didn’t become an alcoholic! I, for one, like multi-part videos. As long as they aren’t just repetitive tasks that add no interest. That is one thing I struggle with when doing mine. The corn knife series that I just did is a case in point. I was trying to tell the story of an 8 year old finding, fixing and getting to keep his first real knife. Mixing in enough ‘How to’ without obscuring the storyline is tough for me because I usually enjoy the journey much more than the destination. (However in this one the destination was far more enjoyable.) You have been excellent on the multi-part stories that you’ve done. I wish I had your presentation skills. I say go for it!

Another great video Neil! Your changing camera angles add a great prospective I know what you are talking about “ you would think counting to 15 would be easy”. I guess that’s what happens when you are racing against time. I wish we were closer two trucks would cut some time 😁 take care my friend!

My building is 36x48. i had him also quote 36X56. I should have gone larger. The dog wants his house moved back.

There is a lot of difference between clay and dirt. Maybe that's why sod hasn't greened up.

That scraper you used on the pond project was built by the company I work for, probably well before my time though.

Great video as always. I think you just about have to break some of these videos up because most of us are like you and we have to do it over several days (or weeks). I don't spend near the time you do editing, but when I have done the long videos it is an editing nightmare. Give us some shorts of the other projects in between thee long ones.

Cool Video..I am not a big fan of multi part videos my sels but others may be..I had Rather watch one 45-60 min video rather the 4-5 little shorties..but thats just me Unless its like a second part Redy to go back to back Type a deal then i dont really mind..

Downvoted and not watched - 360p in 2021 doesn't work for me. Normally I watch each episode completely and "like". At 360p video's look like crap on everything but a phone, which I rarely use for watching video's.
