This is the 4th part of my garden renovation! We have split the garden in two with the retaining sleeper wall and now we finally have steps in the centre. Everything seems to be coming together nicely!
Check out the other parts below:

Built the sleeper wall today with my lad!! So pleased!! Would have never been confident enough or able to do this without your videos mate!! Thank you so much!!

That's class! It's sound getting comments like this. I get the odd critique now and then from 'experts' who don't like that something is 1mm out. But the video is for normal people who want to give it a crack!

Brilliant as was your first one building the actual wall. To cut those sleepers to the same size when turning them, have a stop end to turn the wood against, anything heavy would do or use the garage wall.

Good video mate. Sometimes I use dowels in the areas I don't want to see screws. Well done.

Loving all your videos. I really want to have a go at doing my own patio after getting extortionate prices off quotes! But, i have spinal metastases so my back isn't very strong anymore due to surgery and rods in it 😢 But have a son who could help. So i am tempted to give it a go!!!🤪🥰

Slow and steady will do it! Especially with the weather we're expected to have over the next few weeks. But take it easy! Definitely get the help of your son 😁

Hi mate, don't worry about the gap, done this before put a sleeper laid flat on the top and nobody will know 👍

2x post at the rear if the steps 200mm down would have made them solid

Useful video! How do you suggest cutting a sleeper all the way through with a 10 inch circular saw?

Do you have any advice on choosing a circular saw to do this project?
@NoviceGardener

I just got a Mac Allister one from B&Q. Any would do the job. The bigger the blade, the better.

Would you guys consider some timber coping on top to hide the gaps? If it doesn't bother you then it makes no odds.
@NoviceGardener

I did consider this when we first did it, but decided against in the end. I quite like the aesthetic of it without.

I got them from Jewson. I'd definitely recommend them for treated wood. I've used Wickes a few times, but the quality doesn't seem to be the same.

Not a bad effort at all pal, im a bit OTT so i would have to get that gap gone lol or at least cover it with another piece on top! You need to get yourself a nice impact driver too mate, absolute mustard they are for screwing jobs! I got a 20v ferrex one from aldi and its been fantastic, built a shed using it the amongst various other things iv used it for!

They're not as steep as they seem to be honest, I did think they may have been high at first. The depth helps offset the height.
