Classic slowly became not-classic because of the abundance of games using it. Now the best art style in my opinion is the one that mixes low poly & realistic styles
The reason the light rays didn't hit your character is because they are screenspaced (it's essentialy a shader that just sees the bright pixels and then draws those fake sun rays bellow them), it can olnly be seen when the camera is directly looking at the bright pixels, if you want real sunrays then you need to make something that resembles volumetric fog using lots of layered decals from which the sun can illuminate each layer that is in light to create this illusion
Yeh, I wanted to "attempt" to script a volumetric lighting system using rays, but it might take time (plus I could just use the system made by RocketShotgun). Also thx for the detailed description. 🫡
classic-modern hybrid is easily the best building style and this is not a opinion, this is a fact. it's pretty hard to explain it, but it's basicaly the way you make it is upgrading the classic style by making it mildly more modern while also not straying too far away from the classic style. some games that utilize this style perfectly are: zeppelin wars, azure mines, and tower battles. (unfortunately all 3 of these games are all partialy discontinued lol.) also this is easily the best roblox building video that i've ever seen, this litteraly was my first time subbing to a youtuber after just 1 video, keep going!
i thought you were an bigger youtuber. subscribed to you and btw to turn on that sunrays work in studio you need to set your graphics level in the studio settings to 16 or more
I think one of the styles people forget are the building styles from 2014-2018 before they introduced realistic lighting, if you play any showcase games from that era you will know exactly what i mean
Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely trying to make my speaking a bit quicker. (especially with shorts) It is a lil bit difficult to shorten several hours of footage lol
12:18 for sunrays to work outside of playtesting, click on file, and then studio settings, in the window that appears, go to the rendering tab and the first option should be level 16 or more. :D
Hey, I was watching this and it felt like it was 5 minutes long. This is great and super informative yet interesting. I saw one comment saying you were going at a slow pace, but in my opinion it’s more relaxing. Also I am an editor and I was wondering if you’d want me to edit a video for you (I won’t charge because you seem like a nice guy with lots of potential.) and dw man, I can add subtitles lol.
Yoooooo!! I appreciate it so much bro! Also, at the moment, I think I'm gonna edit my own vids. (just to kinda get adjusted to YT ig) If I ever am looking for an editor in the future, I'll be sure to let you know :D
YOOOOOO!!! THAT WOULD ACTUALLY BE INSANE 😮. I'm a working on a realistic forest scene soon so I might turn it into a RPG, but I got a lot of things to do so I might make it a series...
Thank you, bro! I definitely plan on making more vids in the future (every week), so turn on post notifications... or don't, idk that's what RU-vidrs say, apparently. XD
Yeh, I the editing software I use says I need to keep the level in the yellow rather than the red. So I definitely need to raise it a bit. I'm glad someone noticed. Thank you 😊
me and my friends have a game idea that will make a certain type of game more fun and less "afk" but the problem is we are VERY new and we originally went realistic but now im tryna go a low poly style but idk if i can do this because of how new i am
Yo. If you possibly tell me like a "genre/theme" (not the actual idea- I don't want people to steal) of the game, then I could possibly make a vid on it. Hopefully it could "maybe" help with scripting/other things.
@znxrrr Thank you so much lol, you definitely deserve to have more subs, though. I only got 8 vids out, and I didn't think they would do good at all. Either way, huge respect 🙏 🫡 🤣
I plan on definitely making a part 2 going over some of the more "unique" building styles, I'll be sure to include this one :D (even though it's not necessary that "unique")
The classic roblox used the "Voxel" Technology Property in Lighting im pretty sure. Good video though. edit: I made a mistake, the name is "Compability" not "Voxel"
That makes a lot more since.. I'm pretty sure that even if you chose something like "Future" lighting, the lighting will still be "Compatibility" on mobile, which is why I sometimes will switch between to make the lighting still good on mobile. Thanks for the comment :D
@CortejeVarkamist I've used part to terrain before. As much as the terrain editor is not my favorite. Part to terrain kinda just makes things harder, in my opinion. I've only used it once or twice, though.
Yeh... but it really depends. A lot of experienced devs still use low poly. And some noob devs try to go straight to high poly (which is what I did when I started out)
Deathrun 3 is definitely a very classic Roblox game. But the classic roblox I decided was generally like 2012 - 2013. Which was when Roblox games were brick styled and stuff like that. It's gotten more popular over the years, however.
Yes. The doors art style is actually a very impressive one tbh. Some people say it's like the only good "kinda realistic" game on Roblox (because a lot of realistic games just look un-polished and are like free modeled)
hello bro can u make a leaderboard system where its 1-100 and whenever people on that leaderboard chat they get like a chat tag of like [#1] , [#10], [#100] and can u pls add colours for them THANKS! if you do this i will sub from my other acc (i already did here)
I don't think low poly is bad... But it is extremely generic. The majority of sims and tycoons are low poly. A lot of devs just don't try something new, which is always frustrating imo. Basically, low poly isn't bad if you're not legitimately copying and pasting from another game on Roblox...
@ilovemystove The majority of roblox games are just cash grabs. The chance of finding any games that seem to have "care" put into them is like extremely 🔻 lol.
Ik lol, but Roblox is ultimately trying to make their game engine more powerful and push away from the lower graphics/performance. Which is why you see stuff like a a Rthro avatars, 17+ experiences, and Ad campaigns (those seem random) but Realism in games is tied to the audience (more adults/experienced devs want to make realism). But yes, "Ultra realistic" is a joke... but... you clicked on the video because of a detail in the thumbnail, so yippee, I guess, lol. Thanks for the comment, mate 😊
Hi does anyone here want to help me on my develop my roblox game? I really need help to make it faster the game is similar to elder ring^^ (share to others that is interested no hate)
