Building the Hasegawa VF-19 / YF-19 Macross Plus 1/48 Scale Model 

My love for the YF-19 brought me here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing paint job!!!!!!

Really cool technic for the weathering and finish on the hull! Thanks for sharing this with us! I love the way you edited it too! From the airbrush to the paint ratios, all very useful!

Turned out even greater, than expected. I love the contrasts between the flat and shiny surfaces.

Excellent video. YF-19 is one of my favourite fictional aircrafts and the paint job you gave is also great, I can especially appreciate all the steps you went through as someone who only assembles snap-fit kits from Bandai and would need years to gain your array of skills. Also, interesting choice with leaving the engines exposed, though with all that painted wiring it definitely has its own charm.

I bought one of these last winter but have yet to build it, as I'm worried my painting skills simply aren't up to the task. The fact that I live in an apartment and can't use an airbrush means I have to do the majority of the painting outdoors (with rattle cans, no less) simply makes the build very intimidating. Beautiful work though!

I love the work you put into this kit, the only thing i think it is missing is the tire bulge from the weight of the aircraft, the tires and solid look throws everything off

Subscribed liked etc, this is the first video of yours that I have watched. First time seeing a builder use the color pencils, it looked great with minimal effort. I'm new to gunpla and don't build models of tanks or planes, but have found myself finding amazing techniques and higher quality videos from model builders like Quick Kits, ScaleModelAircraft and now Scale-a-ton. First thought was to share this to the Gunpla group I'm in, however it's not allowed because it's not Gunpla. A shame people will miss out on discovering new inspiration anywhere. Great kit, I own one. But what I'd like to know is: Where is its competitor, the YF-21 Omega, in this scale? The YF19 Alpha is great in this scale, but the YF-21 Omega would be even better.

At 9:05....................Why is the side panel exposed like that? I checked out the YF19 from Macross Plus and those wires and stuff are covered by paneling. Looks good here though!

I would really like to see you make a video about all your airbrushes and some tips and tricks why you use one over another for specific jobs. Like here around the 25 minute mark you use a few different types that I have not seen you use before and I would be interested to know what your reason was for using each of these and what features they brought to the build for you?

i tried a few different ways to clean off excess wash but just kept removing the gloss top coat i put down first AND all the paint when i tried to wipe it. tips for only cleaning the extra wash only? i use acrylics

Hi Rahmi! I am not sure which airbrush you wanted to test :-) Maybe the GSI Creos... Speaking of fantasy models, I read that you prepare some Maschinen Krieger. That should be interesting: they are closer to the armored stuff!... You could also look up for the Vanship from Hasegawa. An Art Deco/Steampunk airship :-). I have just discovered it and found it irresistible. Thanks for the info that you shared with us. I too have always wondered how does your "Tamiya" cement work on paint...

In Mechwarrior these are referred to as LAM land air mech and you got gerwalk correct as the in between stage between robot and aircraft modes. Macross stuff was also used in Mechwarrior.

One more question or two 😁 Where do you get the butanol you are using as glue And what backdrop do you use for the final photos? What is you lighting set up as well for the final photos?

Impressive, but It looks a bit too grubby for my taste. Seems like it was left out in the rain and went a bit mouldy! I'm about to start a 1/72 VF-11, and I plan to make it nice and clean-looking.

Awesome build as usual. You amaze me with every video. I have a general paint question. Being new to airbrushing, what do you do with the leftover thinned paint? After I mix up some for only a couple parts I hate to get rid of it and not sure best way to store it. Thank you!
