Walther PPK
bit.ly/2CHLudt
I went to the Walther Factory in Arkansas to build my version of the James Bond Gun. The Walther PPK has been 007's weapon of choice for more than 60 years and is the only gun carried by all six official screen bonds, including Ian Flemings's original literary character.

That should really be a thing, but I think there are laws about that. Haven't researched myself, just hearsay from a buddy who said that if you get an 80%, you have to personally own everything you need to finish it. I'd hope that is incorrect, that you could use any shop you have permissions to (family, friends) but it does seem on-brand for the US government to put in that restriction.

@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine there is also a channel that tested the RU-vid bot calling his watering can an __-15 and said "high capacity water magazine" and was half joking I think but actually got demonitized for talking about his watering can while watering his garden... so the bots are exceptionally bad at identifying and flagging things so that wouldn't surprise me either if it's just a mediocre bot that's having issues (to be fair I think vision sensory systems and systems that can recognize objects are practically voodoo magic and extremely complex code compared to something easier like an automated sentry turret that anyone can build on a weekend since those just have basic facial recognition, basic trajectory and kinematic computations etc and not trying to identify everything in the world differentiating between a watering can and a scary rifle).

Assuming you work at Walther I have a few questions, I purchased a brand new ppk in black and out of the box the trigger guard was pretty scuffed up with lots of shiny bare metal showing and a scratch on the front of the gun as well. Also the red paint on both the front and rear sights were horribly painted and didn't fill the channel all the way. And while shooting it may be me still learning the gun but it consistently shoots high left. One thing I can say for sure though is it's been flawlessly in feeding ammo, no failures so far. Would it be worth sending it into Walther, the rma process can be a pain. Also purchased a spare third mag and I noticed that the mags that came with the gun have an A on the front but the spare OEM Walther mag doesn't have an A, curious if you had any idea what that meant. I hope you see this message and I would appreciate any answers.

Tip for anyone gunsmithing on a budget. If you have an old hard drive laying around that you want to longer be functional, disassemble it to find two crescent shaped metal brackets. These have integrated neodymium magnets that are super strong. Always helpful to keep one on the bottom of a metal tray or lid to keep parts retained and another attached to a stick to sweep the ground for when you drop it from your hands

Since the gun was inoperable without it, And I had little invested and even less to lose I ordered the cocking piece and the rivets online for about $35 I believe, - tore the gun down to the frame, replaced the cocking piece and reassembled. That was 2 yrs and about 500 rounds ago and so far I’ve had not further issues.

James Bond carried a PPK in .32 Auto, which is a lot milder and better suited for the frame, it also works better with a suppressor, the .380 Auto PPK seems to gain too much back pressure with a silencer and doesn't quite behave. I assume also that he trained and practiced very regularly, possibly he was even trained by William Fairbairn himself (at least for the older movies).

This is the type of content we need. This should be a series. Go from manufacturer to manufacturer to recreate Bond guns.

That is a really fun process, I wish you could come and pay a little extra to build your own gun. And being a Walther PPK/S to boot makes it all the sweeter.

You should start doing the same assemblies with common 3D printed guns common and 80% models!👍

Based on how long it took him to assemble like 8 parts that were perfectly machined, no, get someone with experience doing it correctly that can better show you how to do it. This would be like him stumbling through a car rebuild, let an expert or someone that can explain it well do a guide. He also needs to do it stable on a table, its not rocket science to build SMGs from parts from a hardware store in an afternoon, but even still with the very limited options of how those parts he was using could go together I wouldn't have any idea based on this video how it was assembled (I could do it without watching him just stumbling through it faster than trying to reference this video, the camera angles were atrocious and didn't show any close ups of how things went). Whether its engines or experimental guns, you really want to follow an expert, not the blind leading the blind.

Colion I highly recommend you expose yourself to some bog oak. It is a really cool black grain wood. I think you would like it a lot.

Now off to get bluing, a threaded barrel, and a tiny-ass suppressor that would sound nothing like the movie. Good work, CN

COLION , PLEASE SAY SOMETHING TO THEM ABOUT MAKING WITH LOW PROFILE OR NONE AT ALL ON THE SAFETY , ID PURCHASE ANOTHER IF THEY DID. THAT STYLE IS JUST CLASSIC.. HAVE A SAFE SHOOTING WEEKEND GENTLEMAN. AND HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!!!!!

Up until I saw the Sig P365, the PPK/S 380 was my favorite gun.
