Walther PPKs

Earlier this year I went to the Walther factory in Arkansas to make my very own Walther PPKS or as so many people like to call it the James Bond gun. If you haven't watched it, here is a link:
It's been some time since my visit to Walther and I never got to shoot the gun that I made.
So, here is my First Mag of my custom-built Walther PPKs.

Just been doing a bit of looking around and such and I know it’s over used but the UK already only has 1/3 of the homicide per capita rate of the US and, not only that, but they have an equal number of knife deaths also. Why is that if guns prevent violence and deaths? Shouldn't it all be the other way around if that were true? Clearly it is showing that the guns are not doing anything to change the homicide rate, you are simply getting the same amount of knife-related homicides as we do, but you also have all the inevitable gun-related ones on top of that now too. How can that ever be argued as a peace-keeping success? Would there be even more than the current +200% homicide rate if there were no guns in there? Are Americans really that bloodthirsty that it's just those guns that are keeping them "only" ending more than 3 times as many people as we do and what is preventing them from ending even more than that? I refuse to believe that for a moment. "And why would I want to take away the tool that will protect me?" Yes, why would you indeed? What do you need to protect yourself from that absolutely requires a firearm at a minimum? That's the rod for your own back that you have created by allowing so many people, including the overwhelming majority that are either completely stupid, or dangerous, or even both, to easily arm themselves with a tool that makes ending a life as easy as merely having to move their finger slightly. Now you have to live with that threat and so you can't give up your guns for fear of being faced by the criminal one. I don't say you should give up your guns, unfortunately we have created a reality where you need them and there's no changing that now. I'm saying we don't need them and have no desire to create this oxymoronic armed "utopia" that doesn't really exist.

@@kylethedalek Not everywhere in the US has the same gun laws. Which is exactly why you shouldn’t compare states or countries for that matter. Cultures, customs etc. are completely different. Not to mention the US is larger than the U.K in both population and size. So the fact that the U.K. has the same number of knife deaths as the US is actually pretty bad. I believe the best example of weapons being a deterrent is “mutually assured destruction”, if you don’t know what that means then look it up, it’s the only reason many of us are alive today.

@@kylethedalek stop thinking you know what goes on cross the pond based off BBC News and trying to compare statistics between two different countries, cities, etc. Also stop accusing fault and blame to regular everyday law abiding citizens and put the blame on the perpetrators of the crimes. They don't care about law and order and the firearms they use are stolen or bought off the street from previous crimes. There will always be a black market and all people with your backwards mindset ever end up doing is creating more unarmed victims and higher crime rate. You all decided to bow down to your masters to tell you how to live because apparently you aren't adult enough to manage your own affairs without a daddy. That's the choice you made. Leave others choices in countries you don't even live in to do as they see fit. I'm our modern world it amazes me these people that have no sense of self preservation and purposely leave themselves helpess. Yet when bad things happen the idiots blame the people who have a bit of sense to defend themselves and their families instead of the criminals committing the crime.

One thing to consider on the PPK/s and PPK's is that the older guns made in Germany etc did not have a firing pin safety and the firing pin was only locked when the safety was on, numerous reports of accidental discharges from being dropped with the safety in the off position. New made guns in the US have the default firing pin safety and you are safe in drop mode with the safety on or off.

My first experience with a "James Bond Type" pistol was actually a CZ83. That thing fired very straight and natural. I liked it a lot. The actual chambering stamped on the barrel was Browning 9mm. A few years later I found a Bersa Thunder with the laser grips, in 380. I fell in love! It's almost a perfect copy of the PPKS. Only Bersa doesn't offer the stainless model with the laser grips, so like you, I had to build my own! I've fired a few Walthers over the years and seems I always got the "Jam-o-matic" model, so I'll stick to the copy that spits a bullet (and an empty shell) for every time I pull the trigger.

Oh, but then I did. Silver PP7 gang, what's up. If you're still playing GE and have a GameShark, get the code for the debug menu and by pressing L and R at the same time on controller 1, you can enable all guns and max ammo (not infinite, but you can just enable max again if you manage to run low) within multiplayer and have everything. Interestingly, if you kill another player that was holding the Gold PP7 or Silver PP7, if you run over it, it will say "Picked up a Gold PP7"/"Picked up a Silver PP7". You'll also have access to the phantom, watch laser, tank, taser, and shotgun. And multiplayer recognizes all of them.

While Walther guns are so much more then the Bond gun those movies made plenty of people aware if them. Especially since Walther didn't really start advertising until the last few years. Bond made me aware of Walther and I am glad he did. I have carried a PPS classic for 11 years. That is such a great gun and the last I'd ever part with. Of course lets not forget the PDP it's superb trigger and ergos.

People truly need to understand what/who these guns were manufactured for: police and military. This gun was designed to function well under austere conditions between the 30s and 90s, and it DID and still DOES. These guns were never designed to be for competitive shooting. They’re tanks and gorgeous pieces of machinery all at the same time.

I own a PPK that was built by S&W under license. Looks just like yours, just not an "s". I love mine. Its accurate and compact and has become my go-to carry piece. Yeah, it was the Bond movies that piqued my interest, but that was all. I fell in love with mine just because of what it is.

yer killin me here... My EDC is a PPK made in Ulm post WW2 and inherited from my father. I love it, not just because my dad bought it in Germany after the 2nd world war, but because it is double action and has a decocker and a safety. It is very safe to carry, it conceals well and easy to employ. I used to carry a 1911. With age that got uncomfortable. I went to a CZ 75 compact as an EDC. Similar features as the PPK. It comes down to training and muscle memory. Yo get used to a gun as you shoot it and carry it and even a Walker Bulldog can be your gun of choice until it isn't comfortable anymore. Love your videos and this channel.

I considered removing material on the bottom edges of the dove tail, but just sold it instead, because if that didn't work out I'd screw up the resale value. As it was, the shop I sold it to for half what I paid ended up selling it on Gunbroker for more than I originally paid for it.

Mr. Noir, This video is immensely entertaining for me, as a fellow PPK/S fan, or should I say a "swiss watch"? You are so good at appreciation, and painting a picture with both your words and stances, despite the sunglasses! Sorry I don't get on social media much, is this this first thing I've posted in a year or two? Anyway, I'd like to say that this video of yours inspired me to buy a nickel (not stainless) Walther PPK/S in .22 LR, 10 rd. The gun is a swiss watch. I need to get more rounds through her, but don't have a regular opportunity to do so... In lieu of that happening, efforts like this one you offer, will suffice great! It's all good, and thank you!

My father had one like this back in the 80's, solid gun. The Walther PPK is an ankle gun or a purse gun. There is purpose in their well thought out Design; for close quarter or confined conflict, even in your face & works great for that. The hammer down/ heavy trigger is like a "hot saftey', the main saftey comes off the minute you're in a hostile/ non-permissive environment. That's why it worked well for Bond, especially w/ a suppressor. It's a compact, sturdy & reliable gun and great for the ladies EDC as well.
