Absolutely loved this! So creative. This channel deserves so many more subs. The little sequence at 24:25 was awesome lol.

Eq is much more important than mythical op amps and unobtainium diodes. I'm not a musician but I do a lot if music tech and building. All the talented pro sound people I know verify this. You have different topology and styles of dirt ie boost, od, dist and fuzz, but powerful eq is going help get that tone. Not the first run, hand soldered, through hole unicorn tail hair transistor.

Hi Rob. Greetings from California 🇺🇸. You haven't mentioned a pedal from Fender that was a big blue monster that combined parametric EQ with distortion. I bought one from ebay for $40. Worth the price. I just dial down the drive and use it as an EQ and it sounds fantastic.

I bought about 4 different walkmans cassette players. In the past I hacked a dollarstore walkman into a pedal. I located the power terms. I located the volume, balance and tone pot terms. Soldered leads from all locations. Removed the cassette mechanism . I used a liitle metal nu tone intercom box. Used a switchin jack for the input to turn on the battery used a switchin jack for the output unpluged it fed the intercom speaker plugged it was a pedal. I went into the right tape head channel out the right headphone into the left head input out the left headphone to the speaker. It was 4.5 volt but it worked on a 9 v luckily it was stolen not much longer after I made it. My next ones gonna be dolby a bias switch a bass switch and I may chain two into one box

It would be interesting to put a graphic eq before and after the distortion circuit. You could really sculpt the tone then. I think Dave Gilmour had multiple boss eq pedals on his live pedalboards.

Enjoying your channel everyday....have 2 q regarding berocca blend control : would like to have a passive tonepot of 250k ,what do you think about replacing the 220k resistor with this after the blend pot? and....q2 do you see any point with replacing the opamp buffers with a discrete Fet version ? the preamp after is a Sadowsky clone Hope u don´t mind me asking here on the channel....however keep it up you have so much to share:)

I did similar with a danelectro eq, but I just did some circuit bend. Can't remember what bits I shorted but it was a resistor and a capacitor

Does anyone know whether this mod is possible for a Harley Benton EQ-100?

I think those were sold as "Rocktek" or "Roktech" in the states? I have a delay that looks very similar to yours.
