Now that the REO truck is back on her wheels, I could finally roll her to start building the beaver tail ramp truck bed. We establish a game plan, go shopping for material and start building!

Yes steel structures are the same way as well bolting and riveting are the best way to maintain the strength. There are places where welding cannot be done. And then there are areas that can be welded. Your Idea of bolting and following the same design has been proven to work. Can't wait to see the continuance of your awesome Gold line. She's looking really sharp. Have a great time Take care Div.

Yoooo!! Div!! Man you are making some progress there boet!!! Love how you explained how you got the angle of the rear of the ramp to avoid bottoming out when loading something. Also enjoyed learning why they rivet cross members/ braces from the factory was to allow for flexing of the chassis/frame rails. The big ramp truck is gonna be a beast!!! And excellent recylcing of the metal 😃 Excited for the next one!!!!

Great lessons in this one. One of the things I LOVE about your channel is the analysis and planning discussion. The way you describe not just HOW you do things, but WHY. Thanks brother! My whole life I've been asking the WHY question about everything. Its now second nature with me🙂I do believe all of us should question the why more! So much BS floating around and people accept half truths too easily... The WHY is more important than the HOW!

Another great video. You must have sat in that thinking chair for quite awhile this time. 😂😂😂 I really like that you do your homework before tackling such a big project. Do it right the first time. 👍🏻👍🏻 I’m interested in what you have in store for the ramps. My thought is, what if the front is really low. Will you compensate for that, or just figure it out when that time comes? I’ve seen where some lowered cars drag the front bumper when loaded onto a ramp truck or trailer. Great job my friend. Say hello to the boss. 😂😂😂
@ratrodsafrica
@ratrodsafrica 7 месяцев назад
The ramp angle business is quite interesting. Even with a commercial roll back, there comes a point where the angle is too much for really low cars. At some point you have to compromise. So yeah, more time in that thinking chair to find the best solution. Lets see...😅
