Hi Max, that's up there with the most tasteful SKX mods I've seen. Keeping the original dial is important I think so it still looks like an SKX and Omega bezels with their number design really suit these big watches. Great stuff again mate.

Very interesting video. Have to say I personally have no interest in modding, but know it's popular amongst others. Very informative and you should be proud of how it looks now. Enjoy the watch 👍
You should have moved over the black movement holder to the nh36 because you used the stock skx case back because if you don’t the movement will slowly fall down putting pressure on the stem and see a gap where the dial meets the chapter ring. The other option is you can get an aftermarket case back for grey NH movement as the case back is taller and will support the movement in its place.
Nice work! Love the idea of tasteful upgrades that "dress up" the SKX without going over the top, I did the same thing with my 1st SKX007 that now leans very Submariner (done by a pro). My 009 Pepsi will be my first hands-n mod & will do the same thing: retain the SKX009 soul with some class touches. Ended up getting this exact same bezel insert as well. Your quick, precise build steps vid has put me at ease before diving into it, glad I found your channel...like & sub coming right up!
Very nice mod. Much love because it’s tasteful and playful but with a professional look. A nice touch from an era that seiko modding has taken a “custom” way towards the Rolex submariner looks and because modding is involved, words like homage and replica are out of the way... It’s funny because people are actually trying to bend their own perception. Anyway! SERIOUSLY GOOD JOB!!

I am looking for a double weighted one with forward lume,and unlumed rear counterbalance. Next, a Vostok for modding? Not very "Haute", I admit . . . Excellent work!
just stumbled upon your show, enjoyed it very much! I've wanted to mod my SKX but wasn't sure to go about finding someone to do it. I don't want to attempt it myself. Any advice would be appreciated. Are you in Vancouver?
Good question. Watches achieve water resistence primarly with the use of seals and gaskets. These are made of rubber/silicone and degrade over time. So It's not about opening the watches but more about making sure the gaskets are in good shape when you close them.
