Building the Tamiya 1/24 Mercedes AMG GT3 Step by step 

Hi everyone , I just wanted to tell everyone the model is not suppose to be high gloss the real car is not glossy at all.

Great looking model Andy, but may I suggest that after you let the decals dry overnight, cut them with a new blade on all the panel lines and apply more mark setter. Then clear coat the vehicle. That way it looked like the doors, hood and roof hatch are actually different pieces that are functional.

It was so great to see you apply your expert skills and insight to a car kit! I don't do armor... just cars so it was great to see this.

Great video. Just getting back into modelling after a long hiatus and vids like this really help.

Great looking kit and build would be cool to see some more car kits maybe in the future keep the good work going.

Hey Andy, nice video. Thought of a neat idea you could do one day and that's to make a video showing off your history with modelling. Maybe your first kit and some other stepping stone kits where you first tired certain techniques...etc. Fun way to get to know you and your hobby more. Take care.

I've never made a car before and this made me want to more than anything else has. I think you're right about the paint as well. At that scale you wouldn't see the flakes.

I went to the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart and I am now looking to build a car kit, so maybe this is it. Nice tip about warming the spray can Andy.I have a hell of a job getting them to work well for me.

Lovely work sir. That red switch on the cowling of the wipers is likely a kill switch for power, accessible from the outside in event of emergency/accident

The GT3 looks good, Andy. Your idea of using the lighter shade metalic grey,once the clear coat was applied, made to me,as if the metalic grey look drarker any way. Good job!

I don't have an air brush, so I always have to use cans. Tamiya's sprays are the best I've ever used. Did you use flat or semi-gloss on the clear? I also would love to see a test sample of that TS-100

Would really like to see a video on making and applying your own custom decals. Been using the printer paper style with Testor's decal bonder. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Always have to make extras.

Nuts, I was hoping to see that new paint on the body. Is it just about the same as the one you used, but with the bigger flakes? I wish you'd shown off a test strip of it to show why you made the change to the other color.

I love it. Just tell you that the steering wheel is upside down. in the GT3, the small hole always goes up, which is for the thumbs.

The windscreen masking tape should have gone on the inside and so as the black paint on it. Plus I think you forgot the one of the metal transfer in the rearview mirror. But otherwise a great built thanks very much for the detailed review.

Joe murphy with a question. When I want to panel line a jet like the f16 I just build . And when people put a clearcoat on to seal in the decals and then i used the timiya black panel line after i used the semigloss clearcoat from timiya. But why when i wiped the panel line away with thinner it got real sticky and did no work right. What an i doing wrong. Or what kind of clearcoat should I use to make the timiya panel line flow like every video I've seen so good and then clean it up easy. Thank you if you could help me. Joe murphy.

Andy, what is your opinion on dipping the clear parts (like the windshield, etc) in Future floor wax? I've seen videos on doing that, but haven't tried it.
