In this video, I will go “old school” for modelling! No 3D printed parts or 3D decals! No photo-etch parts! No aftermarket parts made from resin or other materials! 100% old school, with whatever material available! Let’s go old school!

I had to take a two-week break due to problems while I am building another super detail model. I needed a simple and beautiful kit that I could build in those two weeks; and I chose this. Let me point out, this model and the video were finished in two weeks :) It has nothing to do with any other video or channel. Lots of navy aircraft videos will come later. Thanks for watching!

It's a funny coincidence really. Both Corsairs are beautiful builds with two different approaches.

Love seeing this kind of detail building. The landing gear spring is out of this world! I play guitar, so whenever I change strings, I keep the old ones for this kind of detail. Easier than making from scratch, but I certainly appreciate your work!

This is really an inspiring vid, as the unrelenting pressure to buy, buy, and buy more and more aftermarket products has become so overpowering (to me, anyway) over the years as to discourage many from even getting started. While they may be great products, the costs are well beyond many of us. Imagine a $125 model airplane! You've shown us that you don't have to go that route to enjoy the hobby and get great results! Many thanks.

Thank you! I don't follow RU-vid so much really. I spend my whole day working on the new build and editing its video clips. I have a build schedule and I follow it. Seems like people think I summon the model and its video with magic in few hours.

...indeed, that's how you would measure ability, ingenuity, craftsmanship of a talented modeler. Yes, PE took it all to the upper level, but there is still so much fun in the DIY world 😉
@NZobservatory
@NZobservatory 2 года назад
@@andreagiordano2689 I'm also from Ye Olde School (I began building kits in the early '70s) but I also see a place for newer tech, such as photo etch and the like. It's great to see such a huge resurgence in modelmaking and if photoetch and resin and aftermarket options are helping that then I'm all for it! :)

Ahahahaaa! And that, mates, is modeling! Fantasy, inventive, impromptu ideas and a lot of scratch-built details! Otherwise, what's the fun? Don't misunderstand me, today's models are in a whole different cathegory: when i started kit building, they were toys, now they are truly magnificent pieces of work but...i still like turning a decently shaped toy into a true, realistic model. That's is how it all began, after all! BTW, absolutely GORGEOUS results, Scale!!!👋👋👋
