I finally did it...i built my first trunk lid...from scratch!! it took me some time and i had changed the plans a couple times but i got my handmade trunk lid to open and close...check out this video with ‎@oldfashionhotrods . Thanks for watching!! like and subscribe!

A custom made deck lid with hinges is a lot of work. Looks good!

Did you try the new hinges under the deck first? Most of those early cars have them hidden under deck mountings hinges.

No i didn't try them underneath. I would have had to make them alot bigger and have more of a arc. When i made my drip rails under the trunk lid i made them quite large so i would have had to make these new hinges bigger and with more of a hook. Oh well they look good and im moving forward!!

I think it would be less labor to have a narrower rear end and repair the original fenders. S10 are about 54” out hub to hub.

Ya your probably right but i wanted some fatties under the rear. I have a 30" tall and 10" wide white walls on order. I may wait till they show up before i make these fenders
