I forgot about this channel and returned now and saw this video! Sometimes I wish I could turn back time :( Even the old Intro xD I totally hyped this video.
This was in my recommended and I came back just for the nostalgia. I thought these guys were so cool way back in high school for building their own rigs, but 9 years and like 5 or 6 builds later and that cable management just hurts to look at
This is the video that finally pushed me to build my own gaming PC when i was like 13, Seeing how easy it is to assemble everything finally pushed me to try it myself. Now im 22 years old, and graduating from college with a bachelor's in Comp. Sci in may, and I can't be more happy with the path I've chosen. Shoutout to all the techtubers for getting the youth interesting in computing technology!
Sometimes I go back to this video just to remember what it was like 8 years ago. Its just so charming to see all the guys together doing something they love. All of these old "raw" videos are golden.
I come back here every few years or so just to watch this and the Minecraft hardcore series. This video alone got me into PCs and eventually got to build my own in 2017. Watched this the while building lol.
I grew up watching freddiew and corridordigital being insanely stoked when they made NODE - My friends and i watched this and finally haf money enough to build our own PC’s. We all have the those old PC’s in our aparments, and everytime i look at mine, i remember these times
The anti static bags are actually CONDUCTIVE on the outside, you have an extremely high chance of shorting something out if you do an outside test to see if your computer posts before you put it in your case.
Geoxor Once motherboard is removed from anti-static foam, bags or anything else can become static...especially bags...always wear an anti static wrist cable and gloves. Better to be safe; especially on larger or sensative systems...
Jimmy B. The anti-static bags actually are anti-static on the outside. Check our Carey Holzman's channel. He did an entire video testing this theory out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G0hCj8PUCi8.html
Anyone watching in 2022? This video got me into PC building in 2013 when I was 14 years old. The specs were so insane at the time. Crazy how far the tech has come.
Mohammad Hasan I find it funny that you said you were watching with a 1080, and then you said "yeah man i have a 1070 FTW" I was laughing at your stupidty
nostalgia man, i remember when this vid came out i mustve been about 12 or 13 really wanting a gaming pc like these, i was so excited to get my first pc which had a gtx650 and an amd fx 8320 with 4 gb ram, now i have a gtx titan X, an I7 6700 and 16gb DDR4, how time flies
I come back to watch this video every year just to remind myself to stay humble and appreciate how far the guys have come over the years. I've since gone from a 680 to a GTX 1070 and a HTC Vive 😃
DO NOT EVER WORK ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD ON TOP OF THE ANTI STATIC BAG! ONLY THE INSIDE OF THE BAG IS ANTI STATIC, THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAG IS CONDUCTIVE. AN IDEAL PLACE TO WORK ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD IS ON THE BOX IT CAME IN. THUMBS UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE.
I remember being SO jealous of these guys back in the day. This was my dream to build something like this as a kid. Now having it, it's so nostalgic seeing how I was so excited and jealous watching.
Fx Effects Well no it is just about the same size as a CPU... not really mini... And most graphics cards have 2 or more fans unless they are water cooled or pretty low end...
Tom Msn Freddie moved onto VGHS and more professional/commercial projects. Brandon wanted to stay with Node/Corridor Digital and keep doing what they have been doing youtube wise.
+Superblobby So is Rocket Jump doing commercial projects too? They just do RU-vid Series from what I see, and I was hoping that they would at least do another series like VGHS.
There's a reason components are inside the static bag. They are anti-static on the inside only. Good luck putting components on top of them. Use your mobo box. It fits the mobo inside it, it will fit on top of it as well.
No, read the bag next time you build a computer. It says to set the board on the anti static bag. So yes they are anti static on the inside for protection, but also the outside.
Zach Herr no thats a myth, Carey Holzman, probably the most experienced PC builder on youtube did a mythbusting episode and proved it to be wrong, although it does not provide any antistatic protection there is nothing wrong with building on the bag
Dyllidan ret Just watched it, as much as I see his point, there are bags with clear conductive patterns all over them. Try doing it on them, post me the results, again, watch the ASAP linked above
Which is why I said, "Just place the motherboard on something that won't cause static to build up." I didn't say it's fine, I just asked if it really matters. They didn't have problems in their rigs, so why be so anti-antistatic bag?
***** Do you really know the effects of static on a circuit? It doesn't necessarily destroy your computer, but the effects can reduce the life of the motherboard. Thats why we prefer to hold the motherboard by the cpu fan, so we don't mess up the components.
MunchMoar Does that have anything to do with placing a motherboard on something that doesn't cause electric build up? Let's just end it on the fact that they used the antistatic bag instead of something else and it may or may not reduce the computer life.
+My Names Tommy Yea really bad idea. The outside of the bag -contains- -the- -static- is conductive and protects the inside. Now if they flipped the bag inside out it would be safe. But what they did is DEFIANTLY not safe.
HAHA thx for correcting me. Im not the smartest of them all. Just I always remember someone telling me not to put components on top of the static bag. LOL thx
I remember watching this back when it released and then dreaming of building my own PC. 8 years later and I'm about to build my second full PC as a Ryzen 9 system with a 2070 Super GPU. Funny how things work out.
No. NEVER place your motherboard on the anti static bag. What the bag does is spread out any potential static on the OUTSIDE of the bag, not the inside.
You can place motherboard on antistatic bag but you MUST NEVER turn it ON! There is no danger as long as you dont run power into your Mobo while is on antistatic bag.
+Dylan Rodgers Pretty valid point but since games are getting more power hungry these days, you'll probably need about 16Gb of RAM if you want to play the latest games.
I think about this video all the time, vibes were just so good and this semi introduced me to the world of pc builds. honestly tho if you had niche needs like home media or home storage servers these could be good for that. anyways have a great day
+Riley Andersen Well you know what I mean. It was 2012 at the time this video released. VR wasnt exactly popular at all then. I don't know if VR headsets were manufactured but I am definitely sure hover junkers wasnt out. along with htc vive and all the other headsets we see today.
I don't know why people have multiple screens. You're ever only going to focus on one who you're gaming. You're not a secret government hacker. You're a lazy gamer who just wants to fucking play a game.
"Don't need hyperthreading or octacore to play games" in just 3 years, pc games got really demanding. GTA V doesn't run as smooth as I'd want on my FX 8320, 16GB Rip Jaw X dual channel RAM and R9 280x with Samsung Evo Pro 840 SSD. I still get frame stutters...
***** fx-8320 Doesn't have very good single core performance, and few games are optimized to make use of more than 1 core... Yet how you manage to stutter with a 280X is beyond me.
Yes building a computer is quite simple. I have actually built my own computer a few times and upgraded several times. It's funny that you would assume that i don't know what I am taking about since you don't know me. The question is have you ever built one to compare this to? BTW I know what I'm doing so I don't need to read directions.
***** I actually got a computer this Christmas that I built in about thirty to forty minutes so no I am not full of myself. And yes you are right nobody cares so stop assuming people are dumb fucks and listen to the logic that there isn't much to assemble.
yeah but its too much power, usually if you use more than enough, say you need 550 watts but you get 1000 watts that could generate to much power to the cpu, mother board, graphics card, hard drive, ssd. and other parts that could potentially over heat your pc and the same if you get less power that could be the same issue
What do you think of my PC build? Intel Core i7 5930K (6x 4.3Ghz) Corsair H100i Water Cooling Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Asus Rampage V Extreme Mainboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 2666Mhz Samsung 240GB Evo 850 SSD 1TB Hybrid HDD 10x Bluray RW 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Corsair Graphite 760T Case Corsair RM 1000W Modular PSU
I ment that is my pc. But yes, i can play minecraft at 200 fps while loading new. Chunks. However since this build i have added more ram to it. Yet to have problems and that is an awsome water cooling system if your looking for one. Sorry for spelling im dyslexic
Turtleman1234321 I'm not a big fan cases that stand out. Like ones with windows, lights, and such. Thermaltake makes a case that i personally think looks ridiculous but everyone else loves it.
Console Gamer: "HAHA NERDS!!!" *what are you laughing at idiot???? These guys built computers that are probably more powerful than the Ps6 soooo you may be laughing at them for being "nerds" but not only do they have much more powerful systems than what you will ever have, but they are also educated about computers which can actually get you somewhere in life instead of just plugging a console into a wall and expecting to be employed for plugging a children's toy into a TV.........*
Baginda Tarihoran yea the way console gamers make fun of PC gamers for being nerds is like if poor people made fun of rich people for having alot of money
Emil Hoppestad You do realize that they are directors and writers and spend a lot of time editing videos in the highest quality the can while also working on many projects that require detailed cgi? All of that along side gaming is done on those computers
I swear u didn't listen to anything in the whole video except for "minecraft" and as soon as u heard that u thought "I must type a comment about them just using this for minecraft even though I wasn't listening to anything else they were saying"
Watching this vid pushed me into building my first gaming pc about a few months ago. I was in panic mode seing how much stuff that I had, took about 5-6 hours but I finally did it and worked perfectly. It felt so good doing it!! Thanks Node for putting this vid up to push me!! PC Master race!!!!
