Superb lecture- as a northerner it was very gratifying to have the north of England given due recognition. Very interesting how it was the insurance companies that really moved things along- for any mancunian the grand & flamboyant “Refuge” building on Oxford road is still a wonder!

Marvelous lecture series. Would love to find something comparable describing the evolution of buildings and urbanity in the US.
