If anyone caught me timing the injection pump at 26* BTDC, don’t worry, I caught it too while editing, and went back in the garage and re-timed it at 24* BTDC
I set to 27 BTDC for "start of injection" (drip method) on my 1984 & 85 M-B 300D. Recommended by some on Benzworld and PeachParts to give slightly more power, at expense of slightly rougher idle. I didn't notice a difference and idle is smooth, partly because I fill with renewable diesel (avail in CA only).
Cheers man! I appreciate the support! When the jeep is done I’d love to setup a meetup with all the OM617 swap guys! I’d love to check out everyone’s rigs and go wheeling!
I'm swapping one into a 95 Ford ranger with a Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front, NV3500 trans and np205 transfer case. 37" tires. Hopefully it'll make enough power 🤣
what kind of paint did you use for the valve cover? I am going thru my om617 right now. Also i have the block heater but need to get a cord for it. any idea where i can get one? fyi these engines run really good on used atf
@@robertsfabworks6579 I've seen the small square style however havent seen the style your using, would you happen to know which year model used your type? Thanks again and nice job.
Thanks for the concern! These are actually Parker “Push-Lock” fittings and hose, and are made specifically to be used without hose clamps, they are rated to 300psi and we regularly run 200psi of shop air and chemical through them at my work, so I was confident in using them for my oil system, as I’ve seen a maximum of about 100psi of oil pressure in my engine.
ok. im building a 71 cj6 into a truck with a commando front end. om617, he221w, 7.5mm elements. im going to put the engine in a truck and bring it to your house when i build it. =) where do you live? ;-)
Cool video bro, loving the series. Really helping motivate me to want to go work on my junk in the garage lol. Do you need a fuel filter adaptor for that Baldwin or is that direct part swap? Keep me coming amigo!
