Was shown that same pistol at a local gun store, and "Fell in Love" with it. Then I noticed it was only a 9 mm...! Guy said "Wait a Minute", and came back with a .45. Well, I couldn't decide which one to get (and the salesman said "You only go around once!"), so I put both on the card (Hell, it's Only MONEY, he said!). Haha! Both shoot extremely well, and nearly as accurate in my "Big Front Paws", as my SA Ronin .45 at 33 feet (10 meters). (Not "knocking" Kimber, but had one for over a year that I couldn't shoot very well at ALL with it, so sold it and got the Ronin, my Favorite pistol!) Best "Bang for the Buck" are the Bul pistols, in my books! Check'em OUT ! ! !
I did a little work on my kimbers and they work very well for me but one of the best firing 1911 I have owned I have to say it’s my spring field armory 1911 champion I have own this pistol for over 15 years I will post a review soon
@@joseRivera-kr7kb I did have a Kimber 1911, in .45 acp. Kinda liked the gun, but didn't shoot well for me (bought it used, so don't know the "History" of it!). Traded it in for a Springfield Ronin, in .45 (plus some $$$...!), and it's one of the best shooters I have. To make ANY 1911 shoot a little smoother, I use Gun Butter on the trigger actions - reduces the pressure by at least a pound..! Use Sparingly.
I came across the 5" Government Bul at a gun show and had to get it. Bought for a very decent price out the door. It's super accurate and very, very well made. The fit and finish is excellent. Beautiful to look at and fantastic to shoot. At 18feet 3 rounds in about the same hole accurate.
Jose, thanks for a excellent vid and review brother. Never heard of BUL before so I learned something great this morning. Been looking for a 9mm 1911 so will now be checking those out also. Thanks again.
Popped up in my research. A year later what do you think? I have not been able to clearly understand how the internals are manufactured. Tool Steel, MiIM, or Cast. I get the slide frame and barrel. I carry a 1911 and in the camp of No MIM allowed to bet my assets on. As a range gun it looks great. All my 1911's are Range guns, All my 1911's get Carried. To each their own on their views. The one thing to note is how well they are manufactured. The example i was finally able to hold and inspect was well made. They are difficult to find. I'm not sure it I appreciate BUL's sales model which seems like a "Custom" approach. I expect a lot out of ANY firearm no matter the price point. Just going pow and functioning well is not the only factors for purchase. When I see them used they disappear quickly. That says something. Edit: Read some of the comments about magwell's. I recommend the Stan Chen SI. They are functional and in most cases appear blended after install. They work great on several of mine.
I used the spring, plunger and screw that came with the Bul commander in The Ed Brown Magwell. It would not engage the grip safety, so I sent it back and bought another Magwell. This time I ordered a spring and plunger too. No luck either! I even used the original spring and plunger in the new mainspring housing. I’m returning this one too…… Don’t know why the only one that works is the original….. guess I won’t be able to install a Magwell. :(
Just got my BUL 1911 Commander 9mm, only gripe is the tool provided to capture guide rod during disassembly is inadequate. but a paperclip works too. Added a matching Wilson Combat magwell and will probably replace front site next with a high viz tritium or truglo.
Great review Sir! I just purchased the Bul in 9 mm. I am looking to change the front sight to a fiber optic. Just wondering if you have changed yours yet? Thank You for the GREAT review. I have a Springfield Custom from 2001, SWEET shooter!!!
Just as many 9mm 1911s are offered with standard diameter barrels as bull barrels. I have (3) 1911s in 9mm: Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander-type, Kimber stainless ProCarry, and SA Ronin Operator 4.25. Only the Kimber has a bull barrel.
Just got this same Bul, it’s better than expected. Great quality and shoots amazing. I’m very happy for the money it’s great quality. Could you post a link for the mag well thank you
Dear sir you can look up magwell a lot of websites pop up I buy Ed brown or Wilson combat www.opticsplanet.com/ fusionfirearms.com/parts/frame-parts/mainspring-housing-mag-wells?amp=1
That Springfield is nice carry COMMANDER size sir I had one I m a Gunsmith myself. I have a commander Colt Delta Elite 10mm 4.25inch Bobbed and Springfield Emissary Bobbed .45acp 4.25inch COMMANDER carry i bobbed both myself using dremel pen 5v portable. It wasn’t easy to do slide relief cut for bushing fitting on colt 10mm but I done it 10-15times before. It looks good like Dan Wesson’s series 10mm and fired 75rounds no issues so far very happy. NOT SELLING IT FOR A WHILE LOL
It's an excellent firearm!..... Just purchased one!............ where did you get the magwell ???? I bought the Ed Brown Mainspring + Magwell...... But it will not work!!.... It does NOT allow the grip safety to work.
I purchased the G10 grips on Amazon made for extended magwell on the 1911 I have yet to install the tru glow sights that I purchased months ago I have been a little off on other projects but as soon as I install them I will post a video
I have one of these beauties as well. Installed a Stan Chen magwell on mine and really like the rounded profile of it, doesn't bite into my palm like others I've had.
The sights suck, no light rail and no red dot and only 9 rounds. I will still get the government stainless steel model for a range toy but nothing else.
