Hi Friends, this video was uploaded yesterday, so you're not losing it if you feel you've already seen it. We had some issues with the upload, and the last few minutes of the video were missing. I apologize for that. I hope you enjoy it! Love, Chelsea

Always such a pleasure to watch you can your delicious food! You’re so inspirational! My husband and I went to a Concord grape farm and picked beautiful grapes. I’m using my steam juicer right now and hopefully will get at least a dozen quarts of juice. ❤️

21:22 I’ve not had great luck with the Golden Harvest jars - they seem seal okay, but in my experience, they then lose their seal during storage at a much higher rate, so keep a close eye on them in your storage.

Golden Harvest jars are sold in Dollar General in the US. Do you ever add cabbage to your vegetable soup?

Golden harvest is the generic brand that Walmart used to carry before they switched over to their own brand. I've never had a problem with the GH lids and to me a jar is a jar, but I'm too anal to deal with the gold lids next to all my silver lids. In the states I think Dollar General also sells Golden Harvest as well as their own brand (which is terrible, jars and lids)

11:00 do you mean you dump the hot water out of the canner and put cold water in because the next batch of jars have cooled down?

I am confused. You say in your video that it is not recommended to puree soups before canning them. Yet in the split pea soup recipe you gave us, it says that you can puree the soup, before putting it into the jars. I am a beginner in canning, so I don't know what to do now. In fact, the recipe is very different from what you show us...

Hey there, recipes are more of a guide for me. if you use the half broth, half solids method I spoke about in the video that's what's considered safe. This is a great post all about making your own soups according to USDA guidelines. www.healthycanning.com/usdas-your-choice-soup-recipe#USDAs_your_choice_soup_recipe

How do you find out if a recipe is safe to can? I would love to can Zuppa. It's potatoes, sausage, onion, spinach or kale, heavy cream and broth. Anyone know?
