Bulkhead - Transformers Energon 

the walker mode never appeared in the show, but in the comics it was an airborn security drone. and with those blasters on the hips...i keep hearing "Desperado Blaster" in my head. Those of you who watched Digimon season 2 will get the reference

Before animated came about bulkhead was a wacky old man who really loved shooting with his hips

This looks more like Springer in both Robot and helicopter mode

Love this toy. Took off his visor, painted his face silver and turned him into Springer

I love it in the show when he just stands there and shakes his hips to fire his skirt missles whilst laughing.

Nothing against his Energon look (since I have to respect my elders Lol.) I think I like the Prime and Animated Bulkhead more imo.

Honestly, this is one of the most solid heli-bots I've seen. His alt mode is a cybertronian assault helicopter that resembles an Apache attack helicopter.

Two strange things: One, for marketing reasons, half of the recolors are treated as separate characters (Roadblock was still called Inferno for some lines, Jetfire's Sonic colors was never referred to as Overcast in the show, same for Cliffjumper not being called Beachcomber after his recoloration, but played straight with Shockblast and Six Shot being brothers in the Japanese version). And two, Sprung is how the Japanese call Springer, but for some reason, Springer was trademarked, so that name can't be used (Bulkhead became inherited by Hound ever since).

Bulkhead has indeed use the blade for the propeller as a meele wepon of some sorts it had lighting if im not mistaken

For all the failings of the Energon line, the ultra-class Autobots where awesome figures. You should get Landmine, if you don't already, his super-mode just looks bad-ass. :D

Nice review. I have Quick Strike and I love this figure alot. The Brute mode is dope. You dont have to turn the hip missles launchers around to get the back pack on the back for brute mode. You have to raise em up some and it should fit. Nice review.

As a younger fan of the franchise, I find seeing Bulkhead as an aerial kind of bot rather striking. Strange, as Energon is my favorite series.. Guess I didn't really pay attention as much as I should've.

I like the walker mode at the end, but if you pay attention to his transformation, the helicopter section can do a walker mode all by itself. Reminds me of Whirl.

I hope this youtuber and others have learned by now that most of these toys that use Button Cell Batteries use the exact same type, LR44 or GPA76 (same size and voltage) or AG13 (same size and voltage but Silver Oxide). Just go on Amazon and order a bulk amount of LR44 pr GPA76 if you collect toys that use lights and sounds.

I had this figure when I was younger and I think I played with the walker more than the transformer.

In Energon he used the copper blades as a walking stick if fought with Master Roshi style.

To be honest it doesn't really matter which new Springer would be talking about, they are the same character. But back to the homage, Bulkhead's original Japanese name was Sprung so they knew where they were going.

Could never find this guy in stores and always thought he looked like a cool toy. I was lucky to find the Quickstrike repaint near the end of the energon line. And I kinda like the look of him just a little more, I don't know why. And yet green is my favorite color. And I never actually knew about the GERWALK mode... I should go find Quickstrike now!

According to Wikipedia, Bulkhead's face sculpt is molded to resemble Orange County Choppers (OCC) Owner/Founder Paul Teutul, Sr. from American Chopper.

i this guy. if you flip the elbow joints around on the backpack while in gerwalk, and remove the rotor, you get something that looks exactly like a battlemech. very madcat-esque.

Was never a fan of Bulkhead. I don't have any Bulkhead toys, but I must fund this figure.

This is one helicopter I wouldn't mind finding without the blades. I honestly think it looks cooler without the blades

The base unit's "Walker Mode" just screams _Metal Gear_ to me.

You forgot to collapse the side gray panels around his waist area. it makes his torso more solid as well as provide a bit of support so his shoulders won't detach all the way.

Sprung is also G1 Springer's Japanese name, so it makes sense for Takara to give him such a weird name due to his appearance.

Paint powder blue like his addons... give him a spare Shockwave head... he'd make a *great* Whirl update. Bot mode has a great deal of similarities too.

Bulkhead swaying his hips to shoot his gattlings guns, combined with the old man voice, made for a very creepy image. At least Master Roshi was funny.

Non like Optibotimus his videos are so long that i bored watching them. Im not disliking him but overall your a much more better keep doing this! Im transformers fan from Finland!

A figure qith a weapon backpack is Classics Jetfire. But yes, it was a while ago and nothing like this in the last 5 years.

many people hated the Energon line and yeah some of the deluxes sucked but specialy in the larger classes the figures where amazing. The good ol days I guess

the white parts under the arms should be able to collapes forward so they sit flush and fill in his torso a bit more

Man, now all I can think of is Bulkhead/Sprung trying to look at Arcee's chest.

There is no need to return the missile launchers to the way they are in vehicle mode for the powerlink device. Just move the side skirts outwards to get the necessary clearance.

Helicopter mode looks like a combination Springer and Sandstorm triplechangers

I think Bulkhead did use the blade weapon in the show in a fight against Shockblast, but it was more like a staff than a fan. I think it was in the episode, Farewell Inferno (I think it's called).

This was generations springer before generations springer.

You lost the missiles, that's not as as as how much of the figure I lost when I was about 7 (I'm 15 now). I lost the feet of the main figure, the main rotor,the missiles and the tips of the cannons on the walker/mech. I still hate myself for losing those parts as I am VERY careful with my toys now. -.-
