Costner was only 32/33 when this was filmed. Makes me feel SUPER old. Lol. And yes, this is where Sarandon and Robbins met.

As an ex-ball player, this is the best and most realistic baseball ever made.

Ron Shelton wrote this. He played minor league baseball for awhile. Some of the anecdotes are true, like the "rainout." One of the reasons the baseball stuff works is that Costner is a natural athlete. This is my favorite baseball movie, up there with The Sandlot and A League of Their Own. I recommend Tin Cup. Costner again, as a down-and-out pro golfer. Also written by Ron Shelton, who also tried his hand at professional golf. Fun movie.

Couldn't click this one fast enough. LOVE this movie. It's so fun, and they all have such great chemistry. Looking forward to this.

Sarandon and Robbins broke up in 2009 after being together for 23 years. They had 2 children together.

Best movie ever made about baseball according to EVERY player and sportswriter who saw it. Why? Because it is about BASEBALL and not about some underdog team that wins the big game. Life according to baseball is the only game here. Crash is the perfect talented enough player who gets by on his wits. Nuke is the perfect phenom, crazy and goofy and taught at the right age by both Crash and Annie. Both give him life and baseball lessons. It is a perfect movie about a perfect game. It gets everything right. It practically smells like old ball parks and smallish towns and young players. And Robert Wuhl is the perfect assistant manager. What's to get?

It's supposed to show a local A ball minor league team and their community. It's one of the best baseball films ever made!! I have read where real ball players in the major and minor leagues have tried using garters while pitching and the whole not having sex if losing etc. And of course tons of ball players watching the movie and loving it. It's soooo funny! I'm sad they won't ever make anything like this again.

It's funny cause in For Love of the Game, Kevin tells himself "Think Billy, don't just throw" and in Bull Durham he tells Crash Davis "Don't think, just throw."

Sometimes just getting through the season it's own reward. The writer was in the minors for The Baltimore Orioles, and all the players are loosely based on real games.

Like Rocky (I see the poster behind ya), it is a (comedic) view on Relationships and Personal Growth, that happens to have a side plot of a Sport... In this case, Minor League Baseball.......

Thank you. This was the first baseball movie I ever saw, so it colours my view of the game.

Check out another young Kevin Costner in "No Way Out" nice suspenseful movie.

You need to watch a review of it by sportswriters and then rewatch it based on what people who love the game love about it.

It’s not about baseball it’s about life. It’s about growing older realizing not all of your dreams are gonna come true and finding new dreams.

This was hard to watch with that awful blue jersey on the screen so much. The ONLY baseball color in MO is cardinal red 😉 (RIP Whitey, tell your husband he'll know) yes this is a romance, a romance between people and a romance of baseball. I think you would really enjoy The Sandlot based on your reaction to this one. Thanks for sharing.

This is the greatest homage to minor league baseball ever. Too bad you didn't get al of it. A baseball groupie is known as a baseball A nie for instance. You might like Costners two other baseball mo ies, which are less comedies, the best being Field of Dreams and the For Love of the Game.

I can see how you didn't get this movie; you're not too bright, you're not a baseball fan, and you're not a guy. You should probably avoid sports movies in the future and stick to chick flicks and rom-coms.
