There's an interesting old newspaper interview conversation between an American Catch wrestler and Japanese Jujutsu wrestler from 1902, where they are comparing technique to technique. The Catch wrestler actually demonstrated this choke on the Jujutsu wrestler, even had a black and white photo taken and everything. It's good to see old school moves coming back again. Can't remember the name of the article, but you can image search "catch wrestling bulldog choke" for the picture. Probably the 1st photo ever taken from a Bulldog Choke in history.
I love this choke so much. This is the choke your uncle or older brother used to do to you and you have done to others. This choke is for everybody. I love it!
Awesome video! Would it be possible for you to do a tutorial on the rear naked choke and/or bulldog choke when your opponent ducks their chin, and you can't get under it? This seems to be an issue in my training, and I see it quite regularly, so your insights would be really helpful. Cheers, Christine
I like the bulldog choke but risky keeping all your body weight on them is crucial to make sure they don't get enough posture to pick you up and slam you especially in that standing position some people are just too tough to submit like that Lawler wasn't out out he was letting askren use his energy popped up straight away wasnt limp one bit like machida vs Jones
Hey chewy could you please do a video and the rolling back take from half guard as I always seem to lose their leg when I go for it thanks for your great content
