Welcome to the Whiskey Shed, In this video I give my opinion on Bulliet Bourbon a favorite of mine.
Tasting notes:
On the nose: Orange peel, Candy sweetness, a slight herbal and medicinal note and oak mixed with a spicy character.
On the Palate, Big hit of Oak up front followed by a lovely sweet note, giving way to that spicy character and finishing with a hint of liquorish.

Our pallets seem to agree! I like this one too! 🥃. What the heck! Bulleit was my first and only of many corks to break! I really need to t try the 10yr and Barrel Proof.

Great review John! Bourbon is about the only thing I drink, and I do like my bourbon. Can't go wrong with this one, it's probably my most consumed, but I'll second the earlier comment on the wild turkey 101. I will share, that to date, the best bourbon I've ever had is Widow Jane. Not sure if you can get it over there, it's hard enough to find in the states. Cheers!

Right on review. I just tried it and came up with the same notes and tastes. For sure would be good in an old fashioned. Cheers from the other side of the pond.

Eagle Rare is on special in o'briens for €40 and it's absolutely phenomenal. I let it rest for 10mins in glass and also holding on the palette brings a whole new range of flavours.

@@thewhiskeyshed.4105 Watching this episode with the baby eagle rare in hand (not to be confused with the 17 year eagle rare that is part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection). The baby eagle is vanilla cake all day long. Makes me think of birthday cake :). Lighter and more elegant than some bourbons.

great review, bulliet is a very popular beginner bourbon here in the states. If you like spicer bourbons may I recommend some four roses or Wild Turkey 101? Both have higher Rye content which leads to that spicer flavor. Also FYI, not sure about the bottle you have in this video, but supposedly most of bulliet bourbon is sourced from Four Roses.

John, would be interested to see you review Matt D'arcy's Irish Whiskey from the Mourne Dew Distillery based near Newry in County Down if you'd be up for it. Seems to have been an 'Old Irish Whiskey' and I think the distillery is new and have started it up recently again. Retailing for around £30 up North, not sure how much in euro. There is a blend and a 10 year old port finished one I think as well as a 17 year old single cask.

Bulleit is a tad too spicy / peppery for my tastes, probably wont be buying another bottle any time soon. I like smooth bourbons more.

Didn’t know Bulleit sold out to a corporation.. thanks for the info. Also, in America, 2022, this stuff is NOT cheap, and in my area is commonly sold out.

@@treeoflibertydefense8612 750mL however we have random stuff that gets either way overpriced or nowhere to be found, like I can't find early times, can't find WT 101 anywhere except for the 1.75L some places.
