I tried teaching my self to alternate up/down picking for that riff, but it’s so fucking hard. But down picking is such a strain on my already bad wrist 😣

Not only that but Matt has to be one of the most accurate screamers in Metal. Maybe not always but for someone who has metal screaming live for like 15 years his voice hasn't gotten weaker and if anything he keeps improving. Definitely one of my favorite metal screamers and definitely one I try to replicate when I practice my metal screams in the shower.

A lot of their riffs are what I first learned when I picked up my first electric guitar. They’re not insanely difficult but they sound great and are fun as hell to play. I can’t play a lot of the solos well though because I can’t do the scale runs very fast like Padge.

By far the hardest rhythm song for BFMV. Also, Waking the Demon is probably one of the easiest.

Extremely kick-ass job again, Hanninen! Bullet For My Valentine is another one of my all-time favorite (well... Modern.... as in post 2000) bands... and you've motivated me to go kick some ass at the gym tonight!! YEAH!! Two things: 1) You should start doing INSTRUCTIOBAL videos too... Teach us how to play these songs. 2) Do DISTURBED and AS I LAY DYING ... if you haven't yet done them... next!! Those are my other two favorite Modern (Post 2000) bands!

Look all I’m saying is I’ve been playing for 3 years and I was able to play all of these riffs within my first year of playing I personally never found these riffs all that difficult, but that’s just me. Btw I don’t hear a difference when I alternate or down-pick Waking the Demon.

Synyster Bullett I was also able to play a lot of the bullet songs too. What can make them difficult is the downpicking, if you play it the way that they play it, it can be hard, but the riffs themselves aren’t that difficult.

Tom Waters Trivium used to be core way back in their first two albums. But they also play (mainly, from what I hear) thrash, then prog and even some death (In Waves).

That's one that like End of days, which was well deserving of this list, has a similar downpicking pattern. I have trouble when trying to play the main riff of End of Days with just downpicking.

The point isnt "the hardest riffs ever", but rather some of the hardest rythm riffs for that particular band :)

There are harder riffs out there yes, but try to play these riffs as tight and clean like Karri did in his video, not that easy ;)

i read alot of comments here and there kinda debating how you play metal songs vs the way the band actually plays it...playing it down picked or alternate picked it doesnt matter if the player itself is best of both picked style to the point you can hear it the same especially when its made to be a fast-pace song but if you're a beginner or intermediate you can hear the intervals of down picked and alternate picked...for me its never been a debate, you can play any metal songs with 2 versions of it if you're capable of doing both picked style...best of both worlds!
