Back after a break, welcome back to Bullet Journaling for Dungeons and Dragons! This time, we're covering notetaking as a DM and how to spruce up your bullet journal.
It means a lot to me that you all showed so much care and love to my previous videos in this series. I'd love to spend 2022 doing more with this series, and really experimenting with what I can do.

This was inspirational! Just LOVE your set up! Love the name Book Club! Drawfee also named their DnD group the Book Club and it's so left field that I can't get enough of it.

Great journal set up! If you run out of space on your index/table of contents pages at the front, you can continue them in the pages at the back. Did this with my last writing journal, and it worked out nicely.

This is so cute! I cannot wait to set up a journal to DM with. Starting with a party of 4, we will see how we go... I'm not too great at DM'ing haha EDIT: I would love to know how you go about naming towns/spheres on influence! They're such cool and fitting names!

a good and cheap marker that doesn't bleed and has a huge variety of colors is crayola super tips!

I love this! I'm going to have to pause watching until I can get another bullet journal for it because you're inspiring me to work on it! Also- I LOVE the cover of that book! I'm thanking of ways I can that book! (I bookbind and make paper, so I'm thinking of making my own!) I also LOVE your little drawings that look just like the cover! Beautiful!

Hey :) loved the whole journal :) As an idea for practicing sketching lace, try looking up henna patterns, they look lovely and the patterns can be simple or really intricate

Your artistic talent is wonderful! One thing that would make this approach unlikely for me (aside from woeful lack of drawing talent and penmanship): if a character or two were to die after so much effort and page space was dedicated to their creation, my concern is that it would likely be disruptive and difficult. The dangers of character death is important not only to increase tension and immersion, but it also forces characters to think of ways to avoid combat, or, to approach combat more tactically. I suspect this stems from how I was shaped in my teens with 1st edition D&D. ☺️

If a character were to die, you could absolutely work it in! The campaigns I run do feature character deaths, and there’s always a chance that any character may face an early demise. If a character dies, it still has an impact on the story and the world, so taking the time to dedicate space to them is still important. Just might mean a little extra work down the track!

@@BurrowsRed I totally agree, I think my concern is about something a bit different. I’ve noticed a lot of newer players getting used to the mechanics of 5E, where quite frankly, It is rather difficult (but not impossible!) for a character to die. As a result, I think a lot of players get used to the idea that their character will always prevail. I see people pouring a ton of energy writing a novella on their character’s backstory. I see One D&D unearthed arcana take away monster crits because “it’s too easy for a monster to kill a level 1 character” (etc.) As a result of this, I’m inclined to avoid doing anything that might feed into the narrative that the player’s character is a superhero who is destined for victory and glory. I mean… I’m always HOPING that does happen, but it’s secondary to the primacy of the dice, circumstance, and luck in combination with good game-playing by the player!
