oh one more thing. Im surprised with all your Bajas and other RC cars. That you didnt convert one of your bajas into electric. Once you do, you probably wont want to mess with tempermentAl 2 stroke anymore. Not to mention having to clean and service them everytime. Or have to wait after it flips over and gets flooded and wont start after you already tried to pull start it 100 times. Electric is much easier just to grab the car and go play. No sputtering after going thru a bunch of bumps or a hard jump landing. no stuck throttle runaway crashes, and also not have to run to the car if its stuck upside dowm
What is your take on the rear chassis plate on the king motor? I have a king motor and the chassis plate seems THIK as hell and then it also has the billet upper chassis plate that sandwiches the trans/diff.
i agree with you , going with a locker , for one it helps to equal out the power between both axles rather than one taking all the power at times Also you can sometimes get stuck with one wheel just spinning, and with only two wheels you want both as much as possible. Plus the only place where you wouldnt want a locker is if you are only doing street racing , as it will want to keep going straight. But with a 2wd is made for drifting on the dirt anyway. I guess if you put some weight in the front and run some bd street tires you could drift on the street. But Drifting on the street isnt faster otherwise Indy cars would be drifting instead. but on loose dirt, mud or sand drifting is faster . With either 2wd or 4wd but have to drive each diffrently . with 4wd you just turn it and gas it, and is usally faster around a turn and easier to drive. With 2wd you have to do a quick countersteer before the turn the direction you want to go. to get the ass end to swing around then have to feather the throttle and lots of counter steering to not over correct or turn too sharp. But if your good at driving 2wd it can be faster than a 4wd around lots of S turns on loose dirt, gravel & sand. As the 4wd pulls the cars weight after and out of the turn. So for one turn or large sweeping turns 4wd is faster. but 2 or more S turns and the 4wd will have to slow down or even have to backup because each turn will gradually get wider as it has to pull the cars front end back around and point it the other direction. Where as a 2wd pushes the car around a turn. That they turn the wheels before the turn .so the car will actually be sliding sideways before the turn to point the car that direction . Because the car is sliding sideways around the turn because of the spinning rear tires. That when there is a turn the opposite direction. They can start to turn that direction before the next turn.Since they have the steering wheel going the other way for next turn. That when they let off the gas and the rear tires stop spinning and the car stops sliding. The rear tires will grab and the moment of the car wants to keep going straight will whip the front end of the car the other direction before the next turn. To Make tighter and Faster turns than a 4wd can pull the front end out of a turn after the turn and then pull it back around the other direction after and out of the next turn even further. and each turn after gets further and usally about 3-5 S-turns and a 4wd wont make the next turn without almost stopping or reversing to make the turn. Where as a good 2wd driver can go thru any number of sharp turns at a consistent speed without slowing down. Actually there is a video on youtube of Ironman driving the Baja500 in 2wd and 4wd trophy truck comparison. Thate he was actually faster in the older 2wd than he was driving the newer 4wd truck.
my comment to the bullet proof baja your version video is '' wow '', your builds are awsome . and you do really nice work. i have a question if you dont mind is do you do builds for other people. hope to hear back.
Wow! You have a serious collection of sweet rigs man. I’m biting at the chomp to pick up a 5th scale and doing as much research as possible before pulling the trigger. Been doing Nitro for the better part of 30 years so I’m very familiar with upgrading and swapping just about every part possible eventually. So my question is what’s your opinion on building from scratch and piecing everything out vs buying a kit and replacing parts as you go? I’m leaning more towards a hybrid with a big bore
Man good question, I really do like the idea of building on from scratch, my hybrid is a scratch build it’s good that way you can pick all the parts u want, but like the outlaw it’s all ready to go
Great explanation of all the mods a guy needs for Taylor power. I totally agree with you on the locker. I’ve been a Taylor locker fan every since I got my big bore
@15scalercgarage76 ohhhh I get it. You want to make your rc car bulletproof so you can bash it as much as you want without really having to worry about the parts breaking?
Wow Kris that's a serious power plant man what wheels are those again ? Are they for sand/grass or all terrain? Thanks again you have some serious RC goodies there enjoy brother!!!!
Hi great video you have some good looking vehicles love what you've done to your Baja's I'm in the process of building my first Baja is there anything I would need to install the genesis wheels on my Baja?
Awesome video! As always extremely informative. I'm new to the Hobby and you're one of the 1st I subscribed to. I keep your videos on repeat when I'm wrenching on my new Baja.
@@15scalercgarage76 Actually I did. Everyone always says you must have a kill switch. However both the local Hobby shops tried talking me out of buying one? They said that's from years ago before the radios were FM. Love your opinion on that? Lastly do you have the part numbers for the Turtle steering system you suggested?
@@15scalercgarage76 Really really appreciate you taking the time and responding! I'm gonna get those items this weekend. Keep those videos coming! The longer the better
Question bro I am not a rich guy and can't afford to keep installing diffs into my 30 north buggy. The diffs do not last more thean a few drives. Please recommend something cheap 2 wheel drive Baja settle RC. I want reliable drivetrain not replacing diffs once a week. Please help
@@15scalercgarage76 hello sir yes indeed the BWS buggy 30 north roller kit. It's losi compatible. I did lots of research and found some better parts. Even got some help to figure out the things I needed to. Turns out I'm going to spend twice the cost of the buggy to finish it but that's okay. I'll do it good and make it strong. In my opinion the 30 north bws kits come with the diffs very unattended. They are loosely fit and wear out within a few runs. They need to be shimmed properly if they want a decent go selling that particular product. Or sell the buggy with better quality diffs to put a end to the diffs exploding in a few runs. I built the rear diff twice in a row with stock parts and they both shredded into nothing in a few short street drives taking it easy on the car. Thank you for responding I'll take any help I can get 👍
A really good upgrade is the mod rear diff bearing inserts, also make sure with the plastic diff house u don’t over tighten them, hope that helps, and thicken the fluid up help slow the diff down
@@15scalercgarage76 mod bearing inserts. I'll ask about that. Not sure what that is but I'll ask . Do you mean not to over tighten the 2 long bottom bolts through the rear block and diff
Awesome video! New Sub here 🙋🏻♂️ First time owner of 1/5 Baja, I purchased mine 3 days ago and i love it. Will definitely find your information helpful and great entertainment. Thanks 😊👍
