Bullet Train work begins in Palghar and Thane | Package C3 April 2024 Update | MAHSR Project

The work of Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, or the Bullet train Corridor being done in Palghar and Thane Districts.
This section falls in Package C3, which is a 135 km package consisting 6 Mountain tunnels, 3 Major River bridges, 6 Rail Crossings in the districts of Thane and Palghar from the state of Maharashtra. It begins from Chainage 21 from Shilphata near Diva and ends at Chainage 156 at Zaroli village on Maharashtra Gujarat Border.
The work has started quite late due to 'Various' obstacles in land Acquisition in the state of Maharashtra, but better late than never, the work pace is significantly faster.
Explore the various sites where the work is seen as of April 2024. I intend to bring regular updates on this sections as soon as more development in project is seen.

What is the predicted tunnel diameter for double line Bullet Train track? From the visuals at least, doesn't the tunnel opening look too narrow for a double line HSR route?

If you're asking about Zaroli tunnel, then it's 12.6mtr. More detail about that tunnel is shared in a Video on my Channel. If you're asking about Mumbai's underground tunnel, then its 13.1mtr diameter

Its a high speed rail project and NOT a Bullet Train. HSR has a max. speed of upto 450Km/Hr and NOT 600Km/Hr. This project is now more than years old and still it will take another 5 years to complete. In Indonesia Jakarta to Bandug HSR was built in only 3 years... and in this project how much was the kick backs ? The more the cost of the project more is the kick backs.

This becomes possible due to change in government in Maharashtra. Importance of these projects may not be understood by mejority of common citizens of India today, but once it will become operational, Indian economy will be amongst top three, and inspite of hugh population per capita income of Indians will be double by then.

I don't think project will succeed to attract passengers since all the major stations like virar and Thane are located so far away desserted from the main towns. So taking superfast train from Indian railways to Ahmedabad will be more convenient

Since the bullet train starts from BKC. Why was it not aligned with the western side , instead of taking a (longer) detour via Thane and then back to the western side ? Ahmedabad is anyway on the western side.

Won't be a white elephant since the route chosen is an economic business Corridor. Mumbai Ahmedabad has 1 Shatabdi, 1 Tejas, 2 Vande Bharat, and so many expresses and superfasts, and still people find it difficult to get tickets all over the year. Highway is so much chocked that the Upcoming Expressway would also be utilised at high traffic. Stations being im remote locations would help that localities to grow outside the existing town centers.
