I have a beautiful capelet with this brand on the label. I received it from a lovely old gentleman who shops at my grocery store. It had been his wife’s and he thought I might like it. How sweet is that? I can’t give it away, it’s priceless'

I was fortunate to go inside the building recently. Open house. It was simply breathtaking.

As a young rep I’d call on the buyer frequently. The buying offices were in the basement where all of the window props were stored - stuffed really - into every nook and cranny. What a wonderland! She also gave me a tour of Mr. Bullock’s apartment adjacent to the Tea Room. It was richly paneled with a fireplace and lovely view of the city. I adored Bullocks Wishire. It was a dream.

Thankfully this beautiful Art Deco gem didn’t meet the same fate of the Richfield Tower.

What is the real date of this film? 1993? A lot may have happened since it was filmed and that’s useful to know. I’ve seen photos of store fixtures for sale recently and I’d like to know what’s left.

There is nothing left. It is a law library now. The store was closed in 1992.

My mom who lived in Northern California back in the 60s, loved going to Bullock's Wilshire when she came to L.A. to visit. Especially the "Tea Room" ! That was a different generation. They had class and wanted to be treated that way. Today, they all look like Disney tourists, shopping with a latè in their hand. They don't even know what it was like to dine in the Tea Room and be treated like a lady. Today's women are anything but ! Just listen to any MAGA KAREN !
