Actually, they can both be called the 'cattleman's crack', you are right, however the vertical version is also known as the Circus Crack. If you watch the 'Whip Cracking Made Easy' video, Alex Green calls the vertical version, the Circus Crack. I use that name to make an easy differentiation between the names when teaching. That way I don't need to clarify between vertical and horiz. Thanks for the compliment too. That was super nice.
For one of the best whip crackers and performers in the USA you don’t get nearly enough recognition. It could be the bad puns lol. I’m not sure your right about the cattlemen’s crack being overhead and the circus crack being vertical, I think there the exact same thing and the overhead horizontal is just the overhead.
