Abuse is not acceptable yet workplace abuse and harrassment rarely is met with consequences for the abuser, because, there are no laws protecting victims. Interestingly enough, organizations that do not keep workplace bullying and harassment under control lose A LOT of money, and I have seen several just in the area I live in literally go under and be permanently shut down because of this. Even a very BIG corporate organization. It costs money to hire people only to fire them or have to re-hire people because they quit. And when employees are very unhappy, the workplace becomes toxic and performance is adversely affected.
Did that, only got worse. HR cares about company reputation and their business partners (e.g. managers, executives), not you. They don't care about your benefit
The person that disliked this video is a most likely a butthurt, bully boss/superior who can't stand to watch a video that is essentially describing them and their behaviour down to a T. Just sayin' But yes, the points of this video are all true. It's all very wrong and should not happen, and workers should absolutely have rights to make sure that bullies in the workplace will be held bang to rights for their actions.
Some of these apply to me presently. 1. A co-worker at my level has made a false allegation against me, and since filed a grievance by calling me unconsciously biased (racist) toward a third party (completely manufacturered) - unwarranted disciplinary action / defammatory allegation. 2. The same co-worker has ignored me without good reason for months - treating me as if I don't exist. That comes under excluding me from work related activities / refusing to work with a co-worker. 3. Using private information to defame or ruin the reputation of a co-worker. 4. Holding an employee to a different standard than their peers. 5. Micro-management - undermines their ability to do thier job (middle manager's refusal to accept Flexible Working application to work from home when this co-worker distracts me).
It can also be perpetrated by a subordinate. I've just had my career absolutely destroyed on the back of a false allegation. I wasn't even given a chance to defend myself, nor were my witnesses interviewed. Absolutely raging over it.
