I am wanting to watch this for the info on treating bumble foot but ran out of patience as it took too long to get to it. Thought that's what the video was about from reading the title....

Yes it is about the remedy. But it’s also about patience and compassion and the other options available to you.

And I made a grazing box and my chickies LOVE it thank you. I put another frame with cross bars over the hardware cloth to seal the edges as I was worried about cut feet. I used the plastic from the bag of top soil to be a liner for the box, by just dropping it in and slitting it open, put legs on the box, 3 inch off the ground and drain holes.

Oh that’s a great idea! Way to be resourceful!

@@realsimplemama I have learned so much from you, I'm 61 and it's my first go round, it's an adventure I thought I would fail but they are just this week laying eggs. 1 a day, 5 days now. Keep up the helpful sharing.

Yay you go girls! And you are doing a great job! There’s so much to learn (and worry about), I certainly don’t know it all but I love my flock so very much. And as far as hobbies go, I tell my husband “Hey honey at least it’s not drugs!” 😆

Do you wear gloves when you work on their feet, like the trying to scratch off the scab or squeeze out the black stuff? Thank You

I just responded in your other comment 😄 but no I don’t. I need to feel what I’m doing but it’s certainly an option.

Surprisingly the vet used no gloves for our hen.

Yesterday I noticed one of my girls was a little wobbly on her feet. I'll try to catch her to look at her feet. But would that be related to Bumblefoot?
@realsimplemama

It might be. But it’s usually a limp. Let me know what you notice ✌🏼❤️🐓 theMama@realsimplemama.com

@@realsimplemama I'm a first time chicken owner. Learning as I go, there about 8ish months old. Catching her shouldn't be a problem they're really friendly (a little too friendly LOL).

Thanks girl! It’s worked out beautifully. The wheatgrass is growing like crazy and seems like almost too much even for five birds!

Is bumblefoot common in Easter Eggers? So far every video I've seen today about bumblefoot has an infected Easter Egger. My poor Easter Egger (Mascara) has bumblefoot, I just found out and I am crying for her. Hope this helps. Thanks for the video

Hi! I don’t feel like certain breeds are more prone to it, no. I would think all breeds have the same thickness of skin on their feet.
