Bun 1.1 adds Windows support! Bun is a fast JavaScript runtime, package manager, test runner, and bundler all-in-one. JavaScript is complicated. Bun exists to make JavaScript simpler. bun.sh/
Just give them a damn table or desk so they can rest their arms as they talk instead of just standing still, they will probably feel 10 times mode natural I still love the fact that they took the authentic side of things, they probably did it by themselves, thinking devs should talk to devs Even if they obviously are not comfortable with it. Also I though it was an april fools joke but this is gonna be one heck of a tool to use
It's like those stereotypes where an Asian is good at math or a white person sits in an all-Asian conference room for prestige only. These guys are so awkward the first thing that comes to your mind is that they have to be great programmers.
You guys are so young and are already on cutting edge as engineers. Thank you so much for making this video inspite of being introverts. I relate to that anxiety. You guys rock and are inspiration to all the budding devs everywhere.
I love too see awkward technical persons in front of the camera instead of marketing people using buzzwords they don't even know the meaning of lol. Keep up the good work guys. You're doing an amazing job and please continue like this :)
Bungenieers really talked like technical people not marketing stunts, that was so cool... our bundows friends welcome to the party, we there already @linux 😁
I love Bun! Thank you for all the hard work you do, I know it can sometimes be a thankless task. Bun is seriously cool and I LOVE that Node has a competitor now.
The trusted dependencies list is my favorite feature. It really is a safegaurd for ensuring security in applications by letting you know what packages are executing.
Probably the best of the presentation I've seen that includes core team members instead of someone flashy. Looking forward to use Bundows! Kudos to the team.
Hey guys, I used to not know what to do with my hands when presenting either and I found myself feeling quite unnatural trying to figure it out. A hack you'll see used by a lot of TED talks etc is to simply gently clench one hand into a fist, and then the other hand grabs the wrist above the first, and you let it just sorta hang down. It's a totally neutral position and means you don't have to think about it.
As a Developer and a stage fright person, I know how hard it can be to be on camera, love how you guys yourself are making videos to showcase your stuff. Good job bun team!
Excited to see developer coverage and benchmarks of this release. Bun's performance claims have always been... dubious, to put it lightly. Real world scenarios just aren't as simple as "JavaScriptCore is faster". However, I want to be skeptical, not cynical. This is a major release you guys should be proud of, and I hope it turns out to be a huge success.
Nice announcement! My feedback on presentation though: Stay relaxed and comfortable when speaking. Ashcon did an awesome job using hand gestures to convey points, but the other presenters felt stiff keeping their hands at their sides. Loosen up, it goes a long way keeping us engaged!
I agree, Ashcon did a great job and the small change in hand gestures with the others would make the presentation feel more relaxed and overall more professional.
Respect your opinion, but I think they were fine. These guys have probably been no-lifeing it for weeks to get this stuff out, arms full dinosaur mode over their machines. I'd need to stretch my arms too! Commend the bun team on their new release and helpful presentation.
To make these shots less awkward, just zoom in a bit more and leave some more headroom on the top above your heads. Third guy did great though. Great work guys.
@@ShakilShahadat Yeah, I know, I just have high hopes for this project. The thing stopping me from using it full Remix/Next.js support. Also I know there are other features waiting like HTTP/2.
Today i just showed a colleague my bun installation on windows + wsl and on my mac - showed him the speed, the build speed, he was bedazzled. When asked how can he install it on windows, I said - they didn't make it yet! Lol - I literally last installed bun on my machine 3-5 days ago - and now this video just came up on my feed like gospel!. Went to your website and yes - there is windows install command - which was not there before!
Why is everyone commenting about their presentation, focus on the product. I'd rather have these guys present a product than some CEO that talks about ambiguous features that are geared towards investors
Yeah, they are super awkward on camera, but I am really impressed by the courage you guys put up to make this video. Loved it and yeah, looking forward to Bun.
Great video! Excited to use bun! I think the videos would look more natural of you guys were sitting at your desks rather than standing up while presenting.
