Man I could sit and watch you run that cutter all day long you are for sure one of the best track cutter operators that I have ever seen and you are working on some steep ground it ain’t like down here in Louisiana where you had the rolling hills in flatlands but anyway my friend you stay safe out there and keep the videos coming because we will sure watch them
Hey right on! I caught one of yours the other day, you're running an 880 with a power clam and a single Butt n Top arm right? Those grapples seem awesome. That's for sure. Thinking ahead for me means its easier to do what's directly in front of me. One of the benefits of getting older is I don't have to make the same mistakes twice! Some of the time anyhow! Thanks!
Inconsistent production is a killer. We were there a few years ago. Everything was worn out and breaking down all the time. I was pretty much a full time mechanic. But in the last couple years we have replaced most all machines and even with the new payments we have a better bottom line. Woodgrain says we are the most consistent hauler they have east of the Mississippi now and that they do all their figuring and calculating off of our numbers.
Holy smokes! Good for you on that. I think we've all been there a time or two. Old iron is a killer from any standpoint, morale, employees, cost, equity. I had the oppotunity to talk with my bosses the other day and at one point we were all focused in on increasing that consistency. Its the key, as you say. Steady as she goes. Have a good weeekend!.
High production or not, just do what the customer asks. Like I tell my guys, this job no matter how bad or good it is, will get us the next job. All about perspective and pushing on. You got some good bunches laid out for the rigging guys.
Well said. Tough or not, I've spent enough time on the saw to appreciate just how easy I have it in the cab now! And although it may be slow for me, it will be slick for the rigging crew like you point out. We're all in it together and if the company does well we all do well. Good to hear from you, be safe!
