A Great Review, Thanks! We've been seriously looking into one of these ourselves, it's the coin that has stopped us so far, but we're still getting our old 4wd sorted. The speed of setup & pack up is important for us, we've changed our whole approach now & really simplifying everything. Cheers!

Great review!! We have a Bundutop on the patrol and its brilliant, its held up in some heavy storms. I bought my tent from tough touring in Melb and they fitted stainless latches. Cheers guys

Hi Benny, When it gets bad enough, I will have to replace it. They should of used a better suited material, that can handle the sun etc. oh well….. Cheers

Great review, much appreciated as we run the same tent, ( there is a bit of a strange story on the zipper - have a look at the ykk brand on the zipper and you will realise that you have seen it before, look at the zipper on your pants - it’s ykk,, turns out that their is about 1 company in the world that produces all our zippers and it’s ykk a Japanese company. )

Oh and by the way , new elastic is not available from Bundutec but is available from Anaconda as a 3 mm x 6 m long elastic cord called “shock cord”

@@nowhereboundtouring yep, but it was my fault, not the tents. Anaconda were out of stock, so I just went to spotlight. We are stuck in a van park near cairns- Cara has Covid, but she is just fine, but isolating.

Great review of the roof top tent. Terry King from RU-vid Jafffa Adventures has a Bundutop RTT on a LC200. He experienced a turnbuckle undo on his tent too. You could use some cord or a long cable tie to go through one eye figure eighting through the center turnbuckle then through the second eye. This is like they do on aircraft turnbuckles.

Lock nut...eezy. I wouldn't install a turn buckle anywhere without lock nuts..! Switches should be covered for UV and water protection. Great Video Thanx, guys. I love the idea of buying one. Have been looking for a while and stumbled on Bundutop...great product.

I find with flyscreens use insect repellent and around the zip nothing comes through as midgee and spiders

Gday Lex, I purchased it from an online boat store. They have a lot of red/white lights, for night time sailing. It was a little pricey at about $60. I then purchased a 2way switch from an auto store. Cheers, karl

Have been looking at getting a Bundutop and stumbled on to your RU-vid review. Love your content and review and have subscribed to follow more of your adventures. Are you able to do a quick video or step by step description on how you changed out the centre light please?

Gday Allistar & Penny, Thanks for subscribing 👍 To change the centre light is fairly easy. 1. Remove/ unscrew the centre light bracket, with the light in it 2. Cut the wires as close to the light as you can 3. Unscrew and remove the light from the bracket 4. Mount the new light. I had to drill new mounting holes for the screws. 5. My light did not have a switch so I purchased a two position switch with a on/off/on motion. I drilled a hole on the vertical side of the bracket and mounted the switch. I put it on the side so you could not bash it with your head. 6. Take the incoming red or positive wire and attach to the centre terminal on the switch. I soldered my connections. 7. Take the two positive wires from the new light and attach one Wire to the terminal below the switch centre terminal, and the other light wire to the top terminal. 8. Connect the light negative or black wire to the negative or black supply wire attached to the tent. And refit the bracket to the tent roof. All done and it should work, with two Colours. 👍

Thanks Madman for the idea. We should look into that, but I do get concerned that it is “boring” information, even though I see a lot of other channels doing the same. The only great position for us is that we really do use our gear every day… Cheers

Hi, I just found your channel. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the review. Your very easy to listen to. I'm thinking of getting one as well and mounting to my ZR camp trailer. I'm wondering how the temperature is in winter -2 to +2 C, do you think the body heat warms the compartment at all - or is it the same temp as out side?

just to let you know The tents built after 4/6 2020 have removed that turn buckle and only have the rope 😉...our temt has no turn buckles

Hmmm, how do you adjust the tension as things stretch etc? I actually like the turnbuckles, except for the working loose issue. Cheers

True, but the canvas of the tent slowly stretches, so how do you now make adjustments for this? Cheers, karl.

@@nowhereboundtouring After 3 yrs of ownership ..never had that issue ....I am confident that the boys in SA have a good grasp on their product ....anyways ..they have updated the tent and it seems to be a good update without those turn buckles
