You went from being sponsored by god-tier meme multiplayer game to a shit-tier pay2win mobile game. But I'm not too mad because I know you'll use it to give back to the community.
I’m cereal too about bringing back loading names of which map the match will load to during match making in Infinite and future games, to fit armor skins with map themes in customization like forgotten sands on Behemoth real quick before the map will load so you can show off your aesthetic matching armor. 😂
And when they focused on balanced gun fights not who can exploit the map the best. I've noticed halo infinite pretty much every gun is shoot them once and hit them they just feel so rushed and have no character to them. Like they focused on being flashy not sticking to the basics. Not to mention grenades and rocket launchers kill no one
Oh man... that intro with the atom things splitting... the Steve Vai theme... the title screen... So many golden memories from my childhood. Never forget how insanely hard it was to break into level 40
modern gaming is corporate. Big money now, it used to just be about having mad fun. Everyone was living their life, and pwning noobs on top of it, just for passion sake. Money ruined the entire gaming landscape. Everything was better before you could make money at a game. RU-vid money came at 2012, and twitch alongside it--too much money was involved in gaming now, the experience was ruined for the sake of greed.
Man idk what you're on, infinite's campaign had some of the most care and love in its narrative that i have seen from a game, it's treatment of chiefs character is second to none.
It’s crazy they have mics muted by default now. People don’t shoot the shit with strangers in lobbies anymore. I made so many friends I still play with to this day from that.
@@FoxySpartan117 yes they can but it resets to off every time you boot up the game, to the point where people dont realize that their mics are inactive
People need to understand how stupid easy it is to get this working. It is so so so much worth it. The only thing it needs now is more numbers! Everyone get an OG Xbox, get this set up and lets start living like it's 2004 again!
I agree with the Yelling Madman, gaming has just been so dull these past years. This is the only time nostalgia is very necessary to make gaming great again.
@@mattburg94I’ll take Halo 2 at 30 fps, 480p over the broken version on MCC that runs at 240fps 4k. Frame rate and resolution don’t make a game great, and the mcc version is sadly nothing like the original.
A tear came to my eye when he started talking about the map disc. I specifically remember the day I go it. Both of my parents were alive and living in the same town and I was still friends with my best friend who all we did was play Halo 2 everyday together bc only I had Xbox live.
Proximity voice was so fun. I plaued as an Elite for Halo 2s entire life span, and role played the voice hard as FUCK. Lots of laughs back then. Halo 2 was my favorite time in gaming.
When Bungie left the Halo franchise it really did die. Its never been the same. And I think reach was there last masterpiece. Such a win to leave on. Even the phrase ...... "Remember Reach". BUT yeh halo 2 was the first online shooter I ever played.
@@v3co yeh that too. Iv not gamed much since destiny 1. But seen recently the business is doing terrible. I think I even seen the word bankruptcy. Shame as they really did make a sold halo game every time.
@@v3co Truly, but we should know that current Bungie isn't the Bungie we knew them for. Half that team was gone during the first Destiny. By Destiny 2, they were Bungie only in name
Never did I think I would cry watching a mint video, I recently lost my OG xbox from moving house and finding it in pieces after the box it was in wasn't secured properly. I was super keen to do this and play...
God bless the people at insignia! Playing OG halo 2 again has been immensely more fun of a halo experience than anything within the past 5-10 years for me! The ranking, social features, playlists, clans, voice, etc. In OG halo 2 and 3 are what made the game addicting to me and to have them working again!!! Oh man…. I can’t describe it. I’ll be maining halo 2 for a long time again
Almost had me thinking Bungie was taking Halo back. But then again, nice to see classic Xbox Live back online. Would make using XEMU less of a pain to configure.
It’s a shame this doesn’t work on the 360 since I don’t have an original xbox or a gaming pc. I might actually get an original xbox at some point because this is so cool!
Ngl, that intro had me tearing up. Not just because I probably haven't seen some of those screens in 20 years, but because it reminded me of how good gaming used to be... But it also reminded me of how much we've lost. 😢
"You can see what your going to play" Why the fuck don't I know the map or mode before I go into a match on Infinite. Like basic information not being there is what is infuriating about some of the shit they do in Halo. I play the game 3-4 times a week , I have weapons who may never see another model unlike the bandit .. the amount of customization items vs the amount of emblems & backdrops is a sin. I love Halo. I loved this content from you Mint ! I hope we see some elaboration on the model of Halo Infinite in the future 🙏
Interesting, i still have all my original xbox, game disks, controllers, etc. Put them back in boxes and in storage. Used to play LAN at college and then the free online solution with xbl or whatever it was called back then.
Bro I still have my green OG Halo 2 console setup in my living room next to my Halo 3 360. I'm gonna hook up an ethernet cable as soon as I get home today. Haven't been this excited to play Halo 2 since the launch back in 2004.
The early 2000's. Before social media took off as much, and society didn't feel as disconnected. Isolation was less of a thing. And video games were REQUIRED to have SOUL to sell or else they wouldn't profit like they can today regardless of launch problems. This video really encapsulated a feeling in me playing Halo 2 back then and I love it. Thanks. Also Insignia is amazing for what they've accomplished. I'm ready to drop back in.
I missed out on Xbox Live on the Original Xbox, so this really has been an awesome experience. I haven't actually touched Halo Infinite since this went live funny enough
Beautiful… just beautiful… I remembered watching my older cousins play this as a kid but wasn’t allowed to most of the time. But when I did it was always offline during the 360 era so I didn’t ever experience nor knew of the online side of it all. Definitely looking forward to getting these now.
I am sitting here at my desk at 2 am holding back fucking tears. Thank you so much for sharing this info. I am gonna be setting it up after work tomorrow and hope to have my first xbox live game happen again and have my first match be FFA on Terminal. It won't be the same as back then since I am an adult now but I remember it all. I cannot stress how GOATED the people who made this possible are.
Halo 2 revolutionized not just XBox Live's features, but social online gaming in general. So many things in Halo 2 that weren't in other XBO Live games were put straight into the Xbox 360's core experience and became a staple of consoles going forward.
This goes to show you the true test of how the old bungie halo games stood up the test of time compared to 343i's games. Halo 2 online multiplayer was truly something special to experience back in the day on the original xbox where you potentially meet great friends and genuinely having a fun time with little to no gripes in the back of your mind unlike how I felt with Halo infinite when it first launched.
I played halo 2 on MCC as my first experience and the multiplayer is alot of fun. This seems more cool and would love to try this out to get that og experience. Wish Microsoft would make the orginal game backwards compatible and turn on servers
7:56 This is the most nostalgic thing in the video for me. I remember doing that _exact_ super jump with my brothers when I was 10 years old. That takes me back.
Wish they would open this up to 1.0 version, You can have the DLC maps with 1.0 physics . Sword flying matchmaking was truly something else just a fun Era of Halo.
I have never played halo 2 it was before my time, but it looks very similar to Halo 3 which was the first halo I ever played when I was 5 years old - I may have to try it some time.
I need to get new av cables or a HDMI converter for my OG xbox. I have been given a second chance at getting that level 50. I was one of the first 3 moons when i was a kid playing.
I was too young to experience Halo 2 at it's peak, I was introduced to Halo with Halo 3 and i was online during the Reach days and Halo 4 days. man what a time it would have been to see this in it's prime.
Man, I wish they didn't get rid of all the good H2/H3 weapons. I'm not really feeling half the weapons in infinite. No beam rifle, duel wield smg/plasma rifle, spartan laser, bubble shield, ect. Plasma pistol changed for no reason. Feels like 343 takes 10 steps forward and 9 steps back.
Talking to the people in your lobby and even being able to keep your lobby seriously needs to come back. I made friendships through random lobbies and now it’s impossible. Really takes a lot of the magic out of online gaming
Oh this is awesome!! I have an original xbox , i just need to set it up and get it running with insignia hopefully. I havent played Halo 2 on the original xbox live since 2006!!! I was 12 years old when i last played Halo 2 on the original xbox. Wow. I truly miss the Old bungie day's it was such a legendary time period
This is so exciting!! I am so shocked that Halo now is missing so much, it feels like 343 and Halo is just being Microsoft's puppet and "money maker". It just goes to show that Bungie and their Halo was made with love and listened to their community. I cannot wait to hop on!
Halos evolving backwards and with every new "update" its just them adding what has been missing since launch and features thats been in the series since 2001?!
I miss these days so much. Halo 2, halo 3, cod 4, starcraft 2, bad company 2 were all..... peak gaming. That 2004-2009 era of gaming is something sad to be lost. Oh my god so many great games, so many memories, so many friends made. People who didn't game online during this time I feel sorry for you. Even peak flash gaming time like newgrounds, cool math games, runescape. Maple story. Man.... what a time to be alive!
Eh, to hell with the features comparisons, this shit is a vibes based competition and Bungie Halo meets all the vibes checks. That Halo 2 boot screen: vibes Halo 2 main menu: vibes Halo 2 loading screens: vibes Halo 2 lobbies: total vibes
