@@l.4165 ?????? I have maybe died once to a eager edge kill. 100% a pve nerf because it requires skill to get more than 1 swing, therefore casuals become upset.
The thing that really disappoints me is that they once again nerfed speedtech by removing the most skillful (or at least most interesting) part of it. There are so many different options to "nerf" stuff and changing game mechanics should be the last one.

@@TechStomperGaming in the last 18mo I have played this game I have watched every skill gap get removed or gutted from this game over and over. Its pretty obvious when you look at the bigger picture (i.e. not 1 single patch note) that Bungie wants this game to only be for casuals and if hardcore players happen to enjoy the game, so be it but they are not a consideration or priority. In both PvE and PvP, they have been taking the biggest skill gaps (hot swapping, aerial combat, speed tech, stompeez, Icarus Dash, Behemoth movement, etc) and just removed them to make the difference between a new player and a 2k+ hour player negligible.

(hot swapping, aerial combat, speed tech, stompeez, Icarus Dash, Behemoth movement, etc) none of these affected PVE in the slightest hell they even made it so that in PVE Aerial combat isn't effected and when it was, it got almos fixed within the month icarus dash wasn't a problem in pve, it was nerfed because of pvp the only problem i'm seeing is that bungie because of limitations on their engines i'm assuming can rarely split the sandboxes ALSO in pve the skill gaps should be BUILDCRAFTING AND TEAM COORDINATION NOT "oh hey can i go mach speed and just SKIP A BUNCH OF SHIT and then pull my team mates to the next encounter"

I swear their plan always was to nerf eager step by step until they just remove it entirely. And calling double/triple eager a bug in the patch notes after it was in the game for 10 months is just a big fucking fuck you from Bungie.
Bungie should have never allowed the problem to get this far. While its pathetic to see people so up in arms about this small change, they deserve the criticism for allowing this problem to remain for so long. Now people have is strapped to their hips and wont let it go
Thats the plan for every powerful feature, sell you the power, convince you of that for one season and then nerf it. Count how many times they have done this before not only for weapons.
@@VampiresAreRealGuys No they ain't. Eager edge was absolutely ridiculous. I, an average pvp player with a kd of 1.0, consistently went on 10+ kill streaks if I picked up a brick with enhanced scavenger. Even the 6 ammo from base guaranteed me 4 kills minimum. It was a problem, and I'm just glad it didnt catch on too hard.
gotta love how they make these decisions to nerf/fix things within the game that dont really need it but refuse to address/fix actual game breaking stuff, duality dungeon is an example
It seems like Eager Edge is supposed to be used up after using it once, and the Enhanced version is simply to extend the time before the perk naturally goes away _without_ using it. Basically, the timing needed to use the perk is less strict. I understand people are angry about this, but this probably makes more sense for the perk, given the enhanced version was so obviously better in every way compared to the normal perk.
That makes absolutely no sense. You have plenty of time to use Eager Edge in stock form, and if you're not able to activate it once within 1 second then I don't see how you're even playing an FPS: it's a super-forgiving timeframe. Additionally, that's the point of the enhanced version: it's supposed to be better. Some of the other enhanced perks give additional range on top of the stated perk, etc. Yet, now this enhanced perk does effectively nothing. That tells me that this nerf was a decision made after the fact, not one to bring it inline with the original intent as the extension of the timer does nothing for you. If they didn't want to be dicks, they should have made it go away and given us other benefits on the Enhanced perk such as faster recharge time or slightly farther lunge distance. But, they didn't when they absolutely could have.
you maybe if this was done in the 1st month of eager edge coming out but its been almost a year. its not a fix its a nerf, and for enhanced the only reason to get it is so you could double eager edge without it being such a tight timing now its just useless

As a old returning player, edger edge skating was one of the things that brought be back to the game. Such a big doo doo on the face with this unnecessary nerf
So literally the only point for a crafted OH or HF now is just for the memento shader, since all the other enhanced perks in the 4th column don't really help it all that much. Pretty lame tbh.
So they have the players farm for red borders and they go and nerf something that has no negative effects on the game. Meanwhile dawn chorus has been missing from collections for 30+ days. Incompetent devs
this isnt a hit for speed runners, its a hit for pvp players crossing maps in seconds. if you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at them for abusing eager edge in crucible
I had recently decided to take a break from destiny for at least a while and I opened RU-vid to see that bungie have decided to “fix” eager edge. The reason I wanted to take a break was because the monotonous power level grind every season just to do the endgame content I ALREADY HAD ACCES TO just a season prior was time I could neither justify spending or enjoyed spending that way. A boring outdated grind mean to keep players coming back, is perfectly fine in the eyes of bungie meanwhile advances tech which was not even harming the game and something to learn and have fun with has been seen as worth being “fixed” because god forbid player retention so that they can spend money on eververse and our over advertised expansions being from mastering endgame content and a competitive pvp experience and rather than them needing to grind to be able to Acces that content for the 100th time and being cheesed by storm nades that last for what feels like 5 minutes in the crucible. After seeing this I’m not so sure I even will want to come back to the game which I’ve sunk 2000+ hours in and made real friends over. What a shame bungie.
Destiny community trying not to be insufferable at all times. Here’s why this “nerf” is necessary: it was bugged and it’s ability to do 2-3 eager edge swings actively effects crucible and the current sword ammo economy. Meanwhile, bugs are not built equally. While one bug is easy to fix other aren’t so chill the fuck out. Also, this a hotfix not a fucking sandbox update so fucking RELAX!
I used double swipe after shatterskating in the Crucible. Over 100 times. Now I won't be able to blindly fly around a corner and swipe twice for a free kill 🥺
If that is true, this is the first time we have heard of it officially being a bug by bungie. This has completely come out of the blue with no prior communication. On top of that, why this 'bug', a completely harmless speed tech, was prioritised as a hotfix over the mountain of actual bugs in the game feels targeted, and wholly uneccessary. There is such a thing as good bugs.
I wouldnt call pressing a button slightly faster a skill gap lol. It would be perfect if they finally got rid of skating but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Too many whiney bitches for that right now
I wasn't too upset at the first eager edge nerf. Yes it made eager edge feel weak compared to old eager edge but it was still amazing but this just ruins it. What is the point in enhanced eager edge now? Slightly longer lunge range? I swear they focus on all the wrong things. They have literally had a brand new exotic disabled for almost a month. The "$100 auto rifle" was disabled for how long? Arc subclass resil was broken for day 1... I really dont think bungie play tests. It used to be a joke but now I really dont think they do. The company is a multi billion dollar company but cant hire play testers? All this said it sounds like I hate the game no I rant like this because I love the game and want it to be the best it can. But I am wondering if bungie is purposely trying to kill the game off so they can abandon it to work on whatever their next one is.

A change they should have made was removing the ability to kill friendly players with it. Too many times I & others have been killed by some Eager Edge Dbag on our own team. Weirdly enough it mostly happens in Wellspring & exclusively PC players.
only compliants ive seen on the grapevine are online post about pvp, specifically trials. tis a subset community still ..so the real question goes there In a different prespective I would say strand and the grappling anywhere in mid air would take the edge to different heights. But still lightfall remains to be seen as difficult in free content. there are roaming (wht) bosses in said city. I for one hate nurfs and this is one. however its time for bungie to up the difficulty of free content and reinforce the classes repective roles to add to more team playing in free content and more to boost DLC sales and stop nurfing weapons(i.e enhanced) and those exotics that can be attained in DLCs. Hence the added feature soon to come in game post looking for help. though we have that already. What would be the reason to go after the roaming bosses without experinced players bringing the meta jst for nothing ...hmm ..loose ends may be jst strands as usual.
You can’t find videos on speed runs that don’t do eager edge. It almost completely blocks out legit speed runs that are more realistic to the 80% of the community that can’t do it.

I like how the comments are mainly d2 haters and trolls lol the reason for the nerf is because it's crazy op and mostly used for movement on a weapon meant for damage. the only thing that buffs movement are exotics and this isn't but also way better than any movement exoticmaking them pointless ( good nerf )
The speed running community of destiny 2 is so toxic on any change that effects them so I don’t think they will change it or respond to anyone for a reason IMO
its because the change only effects them and does not make it any better for anyone else. For example DMT gets nerfed makes pvp better for everyone give you more freedom the gun is not super broken any more. but eager edge getting nerfed make PVE player go slower and only effects the player not the enemy it takes away freedom. i think the eager edge was nerf because of pvp 80% of my eager edge kills were from the second swing, but i do not think heavy should be nerfed from pvp if it effects pve.
