NRL bunker official Ashley Klein had a bad night Friday when the Broncos played the Panthers. He had two highly contentious calls, before eventually even the on field referee disagreed with his rulings.
I love fatty in commentary. It’s like as he’s gotten older he just stopped giving a fuck. he just says whatever is on his mind and isn’t afraid to put anyone on blast😂
Great video - Klein has been a disgrace for years yet somehow keeps getting the big matches. And he is protected by Annesley and the rest. If it was an NRL player, he'd be dropped
If teams are limited to 1 captains challenge per game then perhaps the bunker should be limited to 2 or 3 uses per game, after that the ref has to make the call
Yehh but y butt th bunker gets to deny about 200 fair tries on touchdowns as they don't look at properly,Poms get right quicker as they step frame through at crucial time
0:58 one of the broncos player knocks on then penrith try was over turn that was called a knock on witch it wasn't shouldn't have been ruled a double knock on then since the first one is form brisbane though just saying
Re Walsh not looking at ball jumping early-he gets a touch of the ball-so what if he catches it-penalise him too? In this instance Reece has invented a new way to catch the ball-its genius-he uses Peachey to know when to time his jump...weve punished this bit of play, so wont see it ever again.
i agree with this completely. does contest the ball mean jump while looking at the ball in the air? contesting the ball would be to put yourself in a position to get the ball in a contest. i feel like he did that, if he looked at the ball then took him out would it be a different case??
Get rid of the bunker. But also stop the 189 replays at 50000 fps by the commentators who see the same thing and still disagree. Go with the whistles. Humour us all.
first one wasn't contentious, and the right call using the ground to control it and slide it forward, no grip, no control. Klein is an absolute shit ref and the worst in the game and hate him. he's shown he doesn't belong in the NRL but it's a boys club and about who you know not if you're good at your job anymore.
That first one is a knock on as the ball is on the ground and is pushed by his left arm without having control of it. Second one should be play on as he didn't have a tight enough grip when the guy's head hit it. Last one was a definite take out of the full back.
mate, at speed.... he'd have to superglue the ball to his hands to not lose it in the impact. nobody has a good enough grip to ensure they don't lose the ball in that tackle, so not sure what you're seeing....
