Dr. James Rutka, renowned pediatric neurosurgeon at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, discusses groundbreaking research and treatment for DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), one of the most challenging and deadly pediatric brain cancers.
Dr. Rutka explains the innovative use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) to open the blood-brain barrier, allowing effective delivery of large drug molecules directly to the tumour site.
