Burbank PD NOTAR Departs Police Station (With Siren) 

That NOTAR has that distinct sound, I always know when its flying by, awesome vid!

Now that's one Police Department open house that I'd go to! MD Helicopters are so awesome!

That looks like one of our old birds right down to the original paint scheme from Phoenix Police Department when they used to use them with the exception that they painted the rear stabilizers. I sure miss those old great days of hearing them fly around with that distinctive sound.

I do remember many years ago on the tv show COPS a PD helicopter did pull over an actual vehicle, I know that this rarely happens, so just like I asked in my previous post, really, why do they put a siren on a helicopter, in case they get into a pursuit with a airplane, or maybe another helicopter, I would love to see them try to tell a Airbus A-380 to land at the nearest airport cause they were flying to fast or something like that......LOL. Actually just heard the siren as they were leaving, from whatever altitude they may be at, you might be able to hear that from your vehicle.......since they have siren, why not just go ahead a throw on one of those red and Blue Lightbars on top of the helicopter, but just make sure, the lightbar wouldn't interfere with the rotorblades on top of it......

They totally should have played the Air Wolf theme music. Then again, I'm not sure anyone would have been able to hear it!

Nice looking helicopter. Though a single engine helicopter and CAT A operations don't apply, I would have made a sort of CAT A departure rather than hanging around in a 15-20 foot hover for such of low key departure. Even a rotor droop would have brought her down with no place to go. Nice chopper, but departures like that can bite.
