She’s got her hands full of two times the love. How precious. I have never seen one let and pat and caress newborns like this mama. She is awesome. She is protecting her little ones for sure.

Ngayla Such an experienced and attentive mother. So sweet no wonder shatilla Shaila and nwashi want to be around her. Someone said makoua was the dominant female but I think with her experience it has to be ngayla ?

Babies should be 15 days old. Do you have any new pictures. It would be interesting to see how they progressing. When would be the time when the babies start noticing each other and their mom?

They learn pretty quickly. They start walking a little better around 3 months I have noticed. But many continue to nurse for up to around 3 years old. They start nibbling on little bits of food that Mamma drops when sh is eating. They don't swallow food yet at that age though. Kinda like practicing and teething at the same time. If I'm remembering right they start eating soft stuff at around7- to around 9 months. They mostly just have mothers milk. There has been cases where the mother cn't care for her baby. That's when the other females will adopt the baby. I have seen where the alpha male took in anothers baby at 2 month's. IDK how he managed to feed it though. He may have chewed food up and fed it to the baby. It was in the wild. Not like a zoo where they will bottle feed a baby when needed.

Naika looks so much like her dad Bauwi but a lot of her in her mum ngala esp that head shake they both do. Wonder if ngala could smell naika being pregnant before she went to sit next to her?
