The lyrics are from "One Wish" Ray Jay. Burial took different words from the song and put them together. One Part is "couldn't be alone" that's already in the song the way it is. The loving you, kissing you, holding you. Is actually a part which the "you" is replaced by the word "me" in Ray Jays song. Welcome. ^.^

Loneliness, Night, Desires, Ghosts and Darkness. Burial can do exactly what Jazz, Grunge, DSBM and Death Metal can do in terms of "obscure soul music" or "necromancer music." I met the band when I was still a kid and even through this video here. Only the gods of death know how important it is that sound was for that time. Praise & Hail!

This song becomes instantly more soul crushing when you realize that the lyrics and title are about his dog. Burial made this song after falling into a deep depression because his dog died. His mom told him to make a song to deal with the pain and he made this, one of the reason it feels so insanely personal, you can really feel how he felt.

My dog passed away today... This is exactly how i feel, took him to the vet my mom held him while they numbed him then put him to sleep. He didnt move When he was lifeless it just felt wrong i layed him down on the table slowly and he was like a rag doll.. i just feel like he could come back but he doesnt.
