I bought a small home in Burien 2 years ago and love it here. Tons of great food and I love the fresh air and sea breeze from the Puget Sound. My husband has an easy commute to Queen Anne and I have an easy commute to Kent for work. It’s a great location.

At The Environmental Science Center underneath the overhang downstairs there is a mural and I PAINTED part of it with my class!

It's amazing and all and i bet the quality of life is amazing, but seeing how a neighborhood only a mere several miles from Seattle is pretty much a coastal suburbs with single family housing covering most of the area, kinda can see how Seattle is facing a housing problem. The price increases isn't really a positive for me, it just means we're overvaluing a lot of average and bad houses and downright making good housing exclusive. Seattle is an amazing city and it has done an amazing job (for a north american city) to diversify it's housing from suburbia, but it's kinda sad how an area pretty close to downtown Seattle like Burien is still a suburbia hazard, while people across the city is having a hell of a time affording any type of housing. Would love to see more areas and neighborhoods leaving the Suburbia style and start doing denser housing and less car-centric.

Been here in Burien since 2006... perfect place to be... UNTIL SEVERAL YEARS AGO... DOWNHILL!!! NASTY AND DIRTY! HOMELESS EVERYWHERE!!! SAD!! 5 MORE YEARS TO RETIREMENT.... WE'RE OUT OF THIS HELLHOLE

Streets are clean? i lived here all my life, streets use to be clean, thats for sure. Burien city hall enables the homeless addicts now, i dont recommended moving here until the problems we have are solved

Yes, we don't always because in this market current pricing goes out of date quickly. As of Sept '21 the median price sits just under $600K - which is an increase of almost 20% year on year! 600K is still significantly below the Seattle city average. Why does many part of Washington look so European? The architecture here in burien looks like Holland or Belgium.

I've lived in Burien now for 15 years. Video is great but you forgot to show all the homeless camps everywhere with their community members smoking Fentanyl out in the open air, the vehicles being stolen/broken into, the gang graffiti and all the gun violence that happens everyday. I couldn't be more proud to say I live in Burien (98166)

It's true that the current economic climate has meant many people across the country are experiencing homelessness and cities are often a place of refuge for those in dire circumstances. It's a lifestyle. It's a conscious decision to live on the streets. Stop making liberal excuses and stop giving them money, otherwise they will come right back.
